Great place just wish there was a TV in the room

Everything was perfect!

The Captain Stannard house is a true gem in Westbrook. There are many restaurants, shops, parks, and beaches close by. The property has a private yard and a large rear porch for relaxation. My room was impeccably clean and spacious for being the smallest one in the house. Dianne was incredibly sweet and went out of her way to help all the guests.

Perfect place to stay for a wedding weekend.

Lovely spacious room. Tina was helpful and great about making us feel welcome. Breakfast was very good. Home is comfy, with modern amenities.

The place was beautiful, clean, comfortable, organized, well labeled, and the communication with Carolyn was terrific. I’d certainly stay there again. But there’s always a little something and for me, it was the bathroom. The combination light and fan had such a loud, annoying hum that I went without light when I could. There weren’t enough places to hang wet towels, nothing to put your foot up on or light in the shower, and I had to run the water in the sink for minutes to get it hot. Also note that the Get Directions link from Hotels.com sent the correct street to Maps but not the correct street address.

The Captain Stannard B & B is a comfortable and welcoming spot. Nothing fancy - no in-room TV or workout room - but a large, gracious common room (with TV) and a coffee station tucked in a nearby nook. Carolyn, the owner, gave a warm welcome. My room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. Although it was March, I could imagine how nice it would be in the warmer weather to sit out on the extensive side porch overlooking the garden and private yard. For the hearty, warm blankets are provided to allow for porch sitting in colder months. The fresh fruit, yogurt and granola at breakfast were nice; the baked goods, disappointing. More importantly, the coffee was good. : ) I would stay again.
