The Captain Stannard

It's a beautiful inn & beautifully maintained. Wonderful wide porch & great supply of beach towels, chairs & games. There were only wooden, straight-backed chairs in the room, so that wasn't very comfortable. Tiny bathroom & no TV in the room which I guess is to be expected in an inn. People who like inns, would love this place. We've concluded that we're probably not "inn" people.

The decor is cute, accommodations were comfortable, breakfast was amazing, and Carolyn was wonderful. It was a great change from a large hotel.

Our stay was amazing. Our room was the king suite in the inn and it was phenomenal. The innkeeper and her daughter were so friendly and helpful. The continental breakfasts were superb. The inn was very clean, safe and quiet and the location is wonderful as well. I have nothing negative to say about the inn. My wife and I will definitely stay there again if we are in the neighborhood.

My husband and I loved Captain Stannard! The room and bed were very comfortable. The AC worked well and wasn't too loud. We loved the delicious homemade breakfast foods. The innkeeper was very helpful in recommending places to eat and visit in the area. It was a lovely short walk to the beach and a perfect location for exploring the CT shore area. There were several places inside and outside on the property where we could go and simply relax.

The property manager was very welcoming and personable.

Our stay at the Captain Stannard Inn was absolutely wonderful. Innkeeper Carolyn, wirh help from daughter Claire 😊, does an amazing job keeping the entire place immaculate. We enjoyed our chats wirh them and appreciated all the tourist tips! The breakfasts were delicious - lots of fresh fruit and fresh baked breads and muffins. The decor and the accommodations were comfortable and inviting. We would love to return!

Carolyn the Innkeeper was a delight in showing us around the Inn. The continental breakfast is basic with fresh cut fruit, yogurt, sweet breads and bagels. Coffee was good! It is a quiet, well-kept property. The porch has great rocking chairs to sit and relax in. The room is comfortable, the in the wall AC was a little noisy, but the room was comfy. We will certainly keep this little gem in mind.

We liked the personnel, the place was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable. Our bathroom was not in the room -- it was right across the hall. That was not a problem, but the door to our room squeaked so badly that if one of us needed to go use the bathroom in the middle of the night, the door squeak woke up the other!

The inn is spotless and the innkeeper was very hospitable. Easy walk to the beach. Would definitely recommend to others, breakfast was great!
