Beautiful location, large room and bathroom

It was peaceful and calm. The People were friendly. The room extremely spacious and the garden marvellous.

The owners were very nice and friendly. The location is a very authentic - they were producing olive oil but also accomodating tourists. So a real agro-turismo :) The garden had a spectacular jasmine in bloom, many cats and a shy dog. The location also has a nice pool that one can enjoy in the hot summer days. They offer breakfast and dinner ( 10 eur - breakfast, 35 eur - dinner) and you can have their house wine or buy localy produced wine. We also had an olive oil tasting which lead to buying some of their very good oil, of course :)

Since the location is a very old mannor ( from 1484), the rooms are not soundproof and you can easily hear your neighbours in the other rooms. But this is overcompensated by the quiet of the night, the light of the fireflys and the singing of the birds.

The property is very convenient for Cortona - a short drive away. The pleasant and obviously hard-working hosts have missed an opportunity to fulfill the potential of this place (which does have rustic charm) by failing to control their small dog from leaving excrement all over garden, by removing the dining furniture from the room( website photo is inaccurate), by failing to provide storage, a kettle (contrary to website) a mini fridge, a TV or sufficient wifi that would allow streaming in the absence of any TV in the room. The bed was comfortable and it was very quiet overnight. The smell of jasmine in the garden and the loud birds singing were lovely.

The room was dark, damp and musky smelling. The unwashed fixed cotton curtains at the windows obscured most the light. If you opened the french doors to brighten up the room, the farm cats or dog would come into the room (my husband is allergic). The amount of dog excrement on the grass and close to the doors of the property is unacceptable for a vacation rental. My husband and I separately trod in faeces and had to clean up our shoes, and the faeces inadvertently brought into the unit with us. The bathroom is awful as can be seen from our attached photos- old tiles, porous and unclean feeling brick floor. Unwashed shower curtain. No bathroom storage of any kind. The only place to put shampoo or soap while showering was either on the unclean-looking brick floor, the toilet seat or the bidet. The dining area (per website) was empty floor space on our arrival - the dining furniture shown on the website (as well as certain other armchairs/ furniture) was not in the room, and we had to request a table (from the garden furniture) to use in the room as its sole table. There is no minifridge or kettle. There is no TV. The wifi is very slow and not good for streaming. The use of hot water in this room or neighbouring room activates a loud buzzing pump sound in the room - guaranteed to wake up anyone sleeping. Our quadruple room adjoined a function room and there is no sound proofing between it and our room, so blaring Italian radio or staff conversations are fully audible. Finally, the storage in a room meant to accommodate 4 people consisted of 7 hangers and 2 drawers. Despite having a non-refundable booking for 5 days, we left as soon as we could arrange alternative accommodation. We were REALLY disappointed and at a loss to understand so many other positive reviews, which we had relied on when booking our stay.

This is a charming agriturismo near Cortona. The hosts were delightful and took great care to make our stay memorable. The meals were perfect and the dinner was exceptional. We took day trips every day and were happy to come back "home" each night. I would highly recommend this place for a visit in central Italy.

It's a beautiful location run by wonderful people. They were all very helpful throughout, especially with the touristy bits and made us feel very welcome! I can't recommend them more highly and we will definitely be returning. Also, as other reviews have mentioned, the food is fantastic. We ended up eating there every evening and, again, I'd highly recommend the food.
