Baymont by Wyndham Savannah/Garden City

The room was basically clean, check in was easy, the young girl that works at night was super sweet. It is not far from downtown just about a 10 dollar uber ride

I was unaware until arrival that there were renovations going on which generally isn’t bad, I understand it is the off season but there seems to be a sewage issue. The lobby toilet and my room toilet had a foul smell not of sulfur but of raw sewage. My room was okay, but it wasn’t as clean as I expected, very dingy. Online the location is quite deceiving and it’s not in a great area. Also there is a train across the street which blows its horn between 1:00 am and 2:30am nightly (I stayed a few nights). The lobby was just sad looking and the area to buy water or snacks was completely bare but for 4 waters. The entire hotel emitted a smell of that sewage mixed with curry maybe or something I couldn’t pinpoint. I didn’t partake in the breakfast because the lobby was so out of sorts. It is as if everything is almost clean but not quite. There was a lot of residue on the sink, faucet, and bathroom handles.

The air didn’t work so the room was a stuffy and the phone didn’t work either. I had to go downstairs to talk to a staff since the phone didn’t work and they were not very helpful so we had to spend the night without any AC. The TV remote didn’t work so we had to cover the TV screen with couple of towels in order to be able to sleep. Breakfast was included and it was served from 6 to 9 . We made it to breakfast at 8 o’clock, but almost everything was out. Again, the staff told us there is not much they can do except to make more coffee. When asked to talk to a manager, I I was told that there were no manager on site because she had to take care of three other locations.

Dirty, bad breakfast, bad location, very old, very run down

The staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable.

I booked 2 queen beds but they were definitely full beds. I plugged in my charger and the outlet sparked so we changed rooms. I did ask about the beds and the lady at the front desk insisted that they were queen but they were not. Also, this hotel is directly across from a railway so prepare for noise.

It was a great stay. Very close to restaurants, river st and enmstket arena. Great price

The bathroom could have been a little bigger but I would book at this hotel again
