Solar do Castelo - Lisbon Heritage Collection - Alfama

The room was beautiful and comfortable. But the best part of this hotel is the service. The staff are great. But wow the amenities- water (still, with lemon, with orange) and ice and glasses when you enter is so refreshing. Coffee, tea, and pastries all the time! And each evening there is sparkling wine out to self serve. There is also an honor bar. It was so wonderful to have dinner and come back to the peace and quite of the hotel and share some sparkling wine each night. Then port in the room. Just wow!! The hotel was beautiful and tranquil.

Ubers would take you up and you would still have a 7-10 minute walk up to the hotel. Taxis would typically go to the entrance of the castle. There is a bus line that has a stop there too (probably the best option). But when leaving, I recommend asking the hotel call a taxi so it will come to the door.

What a truly lovely hotel! It was in a peaceful part of Lisbon old town, inside the walls of the Castelo. Beautifully furnished, our room was so comfortable, it was at the top. The hotel provided us with a tray with kettle, cups and delicious biscuits, which was refreshed every day. Breakfast was served from 07.30 until 12pm and consisted of everything from fruit, yoghurts, breads, cakes, smoked salmon, sardines, eggs and bacon - too much to list and all delicious! There’s an honesty bar in the main lounge and coffee, tea, cakes and fruit served all day long, and free sparkling wine opened at 6pm every evening. The courtyard is so beautiful and cosy and has resident peacocks who are very tame and beautiful to watch - they also live in the grounds of the Castelo and breed there. The staff are so friendly and helpful, we felt so at home during our week stay, we didn’t want to leave! Thanks to all at the hotel for making our holiday so enjoyable :)

We loved everything about Solar do Castelo Hotel. The location is great and it has good facilities. Perfect base for a stay in Lisbon. Never been to a hotel before that has peacocks which were very interesting to watch.

Das Hotel ist klein und sehr persönlich gehalten, total sauber und in absolut besonderer Lage, direkt am Castelo in der Alfama. Es gibt einen wunderschönen Innenhof und das Frühstück ist bis 12 Uhr möglich. Getränke kann man sich rund um die Uhr nehmen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Die 40 Fasane auf dem Castelo sind sehr laut. Teilweise auch nachts. Uns hat das nur so mittel gestört aber wer da empfindlich ist, sollte sich ggf eine andere Unterkunft suchen. Die Anreise muss man unbedingt über das Hotel machen, da normale Taxis nicht bis zum Hotel fahren dürfen. Auch das Taxi von booking com nicht.

El hotel es muy bonito, un edificio muy cuidado, los pavos reales son un atractivo, pero hay que tener en cuenta que están haciendo sonido de canto todo el día y noche, por lo que el descanso está a merced de ellos, si eres de buen dormir, genial, disfrutarás de su presencia, pues te acompañan en el desayuno.

Las camareras de pisos como el personal del desayuno son muy poco amables e ineficientes , se nota que no les gusta su trabajo y no lo hacen, el primer día no hicieron el dormitorio, tienen un corazón para poner en puerta que por un lado es no molestar, por el otro el nombre del hotel, lo pusimos por el nombre del hotel, resulta que a la noche cuando llegamos nos dijeron que hacer dormitorio es no poner nada, eso sí, nos dijeron adiós a las 11 de la mañana al irnos, volvimos a las 21 horas, nadie te explica ese insólito sistema, opuesto al resto de hoteles del mundo. En el desayuno, que te traigan algo que solicitaste es un acto de fe, pues te miran mal y si quieren lo hacen si no tienes que ir a recepción lo dices y ellos reclaman, son conscientes de que es mal personal el destinado en desayuno . El personal de recepción muy bien, las tres personas que tratamos eran eficientes y amables. El resto de personal muy muy mal. El hotel es caro y el servicio debería ser acorde. Las tres noches que estuvimos no cumplieron nuestras expectativas.
