Budapest Opera Apartments

The prime location and close access to other sightseeing areas!

More towels should have been included in price! I couldn’t wash my hair without having to request more towels which cost 10€ extra! The hot water in the shower was very inconsistent. Either burning hot or ice cold!

Location excellent

The studio apartment is in an excellent location near the underground and Opera house. There was an electric kettle which was useful but I didn't use the kitchen facilities which were perfectly adequate. The bed is a sofa bed and quite comfortable for a few nights city break. The host responded very quickly when contacted.

Unfortunately there wasn't a plug near the bed to charge my phone at night. Also, there was a floor lamp near the bed for reading but I had to get out of bed to switch it on or off as the switch was at the base of the lamp. There was no curtain on the bathroom window and the shower was visible to the upper floor of the building nearby.

Very nice apartment, clean, tidy and well equipped. Lovely location, close to the centre. Highly recommend.

Everything about the apartment.

First, the positive: The accommodation's location is very central. From here, everything in Budapest can be reached on foot in no more than 20 minutes. The negative experiences with this "apartment," however, are mostly much more serious.

First, the apartment is located in a completely dilapidated building. There is a lack of cleanliness (large cobwebs can be found everywhere). The lamps have obviously not been used for some time. A window curtain to darken the room was missing, and when one of the windows was opened, the handle broke. The openings protruded from the rotten window frame, making it impossible to open the window. Expired shower gel packs and old tampon packs are scattered around in the bathroom. A hot shower is only possible if the sink faucet is turned on in addition to the shower. Only then does the water boiler kick in and heat the shower water. The biggest disappointment, however, is the bed, which isn't really a bed but a sofa bed. Far too short for a normal adult and too uncomfortable for a comfortable sleep. A final word about the facilities and care provided by Peter. We have never experienced such poor management and service. When we politely asked for two more bath towels, we received the reply that we had booked an apartment, not a hotel room. After further discussion, we were given a couple of towels. Overall, you'd be better off looking for somewhere cleaner, more comfortable, and with better service for your stay in Budapest. Our rating: "Not recommended."
