Zafiro Cala Mesquida

Good air conditioning; very friendly staff who helped us to change the room no questions asked (we asked to change for a more quite room that is not facing the pool with entertainment); huge variety of food with detailed information about allergens (!) to choose from and several restaurants in the area; alcohol and drinks can be just self-served without any necessity to order a drink even on dinners (!); a lot of non-alcoholic cocktails to choose from; very clean spaces; great for families with children; very green and beautiful inner garden; great idea to combine a door key with all-inclusive bracelet which also allowed to register all orders without the need to say your room number out loud (very very good idea!)

The pool working hours are from 10 to 6 pm, but if you come at 10 - all beds near the pool are already occupied by people who do not respect the opening hours. I know most of the hotels have the similar working hours and I will comment the same to every hotel: please extend pool hours from 8 am to 8 pm so that also people who do not want to expose themselves to the UV radiation during the hottest hours can also enjoy them. Shower gel was a joke. Compared to other hotels in the area (we have stayed in three different 4-star hotels during our stay), Zafiro had the worst cosmetics in the bathroom.

We picked this hotel because of the points we had through the Booking.com Mobile app. We didn’t know anything about it and we just wanted a beach destination for our children’s (4 and 6) school holiday. Besides the fact that we had the entire place to ourselves, the staff is incredibly kind and polite, and the beach at Cala Mesquida is breathtaking, we were extremely surprised with the quality of our room. Yes the hotel is dated but we got a family suite in building 7 facing the garden and it was very spacious for our family of four. The beach was a quick walk from the hotel and it was basically private for us. While the hotel provides towels, we did bring our inflatables and beach loungers for the beach. I did not see anything available for rent at the beach. We did get a car and were able to venture out for meals. Unfortunately the food at the hotel is not great. But take that with a grain of sand as we are extremely high maintenance when it comes to food. The quality of the stay, our accommodations and availabilities for the kids made the trip a 10/10.

The location was perfect - pool for the kids, and beach for me! The staff were always friendly and helpful. Although we didn't partake in any of the shows or activities (for example yoga) - it was nice to know that the option was there. I liked the convenience of the breacelet as a room key as well as form of payment at the restaurants.

The kitchenette in the room wasn't the best quality. Proper cereal bowls are lacking (the ones provided are far too shallow). The open door shower is horrrible. So much water sprays outside the shower that we had to use multiple towels to dry the ground, which is wasteful and annoying. I also strongly detest when a shower doesn't have a reachable shelf for shampoo and soap; there was a small one, but it's far too high for the kids to reach. There was no jacuzzi with hot water on the property, and the indoor pool had a unsavory smell.

It is a super hotels for families with children but not meant as a relaxing place. The rooms are spacious and nice. The swimming pools and the beach is beautiful.

The rooms smelled like sewage! Terrible smell and the moment you turned the air conditioner off, it hit so hard. The staff only made the bed and change the towels and toilette paper, we stayed 9 nights and our floor was so dirty full of sand and hair and we specifically went to the reciption after we noticed they never clean it to require they do, but when we came back it was still dirty so we just gave up. Staff in the reception are friendly but super slow. To check in three person they needed 35 minutes only for us!. The animation night was super loud until 22:30 pm or sometimes till 23:00 pm and you had no chance to rest or do anything as the volume was uncomfortably high.

It was great holliday! Amazing place for me and my familly! Highly recomended!!!
