"Great holiday"

8.0

We had a fantastic time at this hotel. Was a bit wary after reading previous reviews but it was great, in a very quiet location there’s not much within a 10 minute walk either way but a five euro taxi drive will take you to more bars and restaurants. The pictures on jet2 don’t really do it justice there’s lots of slides and pools to choose from only down side is that most of them are salt water and not good on the eyes if your not used to it. We opted for a junior suite and on arrival we was facing the road after upgrading to the pool/sea view for 90 euro we had an amazing view definitely worth it. Food was typical all inclusive stuff not very appetising for brits but we ate out a few nights. Curry house called the spice box was really good and lord johns was also very good both about a five euro taxi drive away and very cheap. Rooms and general hotel was really clean I read some reviews about ignorant and rude staff but I found this not to be true. You’re not in Benidorm here and the language barrier is real not many speak fluent English and I think this could be mistaken for rudeness. Going outside the hotel the Spanish siesta is still a thing so everything closes for a few hours so be wary of that if your going out to eat as this caught us out went out at 7 in the evening and everything was still closed not until after a Google search I found out they opened at 8 but we went back the restaurant in the hotel and ate there. We visited the first week of the May half term and it was really quiet up until the Thursday when we noticed a increase in guests but the majority of them were Spanish so I think it’s generally a place in Spain where the Spanish go on holiday and probably reflects the price with everything being so cheap and not aimed at charging more to tourists. In the end would we go back ? Absolutely but maybe leave it a couple of years lovely hotel and staff just in a quiet location

"If you like rude staff, here's the place to visit!"

4.0

I think that this will be the lowest stared value for any of the holidays that I have been on and reviewed. This holiday was our annual family holiday of 10, the gran parents.. us.. and our two daughters family's of 2 plus 2 children. And regardless of hotel we really do have a great time. 1, food. Awful, it was cold, no time served rotation etc, flies were in the restaurant and it was not very clean. 2, drinks, possibly the best thing as long as you stayed to beer or water. 3, pools were freezing cold 4, staff were so ignorant and blatantly rude. 5, Rooms, ok nothing to really say. Overall it was possibly the rudest hotel I have ever been too, it really did feel that they neither wanted us there or even liked us. Well don't worry, we will not be back ever.

"Falsely advertised!"

2.0

Massively falsely advertised on behalf of Jet2 Holidays! This is not a “family favourite” for British people, especially for families! I am currently waiting still for jet2 to get back to me after 2 months of complaining. When expressing how uncomfortable we felt on this holiday the hotel managers only solution was that we could pay more money to go home early. Jet2s response was to pay more money for a “Spanish coloured wrist band” so that we didn’t get treated any differently. This did not come with any extra perks for us as we were told the restaurants were fully booked every single day we were there, but the Spanish they were welcomed into different restaurants on the complex and were allowed a fresh bottle of water every night when going to bed. The food we had mould in the mouse that was in the fridge. The food was the same every day nothing was even touching warm. The lack of food choices far from a 4 star hotel. The pools were okay. The pool bar staff mostly lovely. None of the daily or evening activities were all inclusive. The staff only spoke Spanish which made our children feel very excluded as they could not join in the fun. Rooms were cleaned everyday and were spotless. We found the room an okay size for a family of 3. Unfortunately we were not the only family to feel this way as families in our hotel expressed they felt the same and then on our going home day families that had stayed around Almeria in different hotels ect were made to feel the same. I have been on Spanish holidays before and we have had amazing times. However how we were made to feel while we were on this holiday as it was stated as a “family favourite” and a 4* hotel it was far from and finally the lack of support from Jet2 holidays utterly disappointed as this was not a cheap holiday! Jet2 had taken this hotel completely off their website while we were away I think that’s interesting.

"We had a wonderful holiday!"

8.0

Visited as an English family (no young children) last month, and we had an absolutely fantastic holiday! Note - review is based on going at a very quiet time (early October), the hotel closed for the season the day after we checked out. Pools (10/10) One of the highlights! Very large saltwater (but not strong saltwater) pool. Very cold, but fine once you get in! We were the only ones in the pool most days. Water slides are great fun too, we used them everyday. Food (8/10) All tasty, fairly warm and lunch/dinner were different every day. If you're English, the breakfast meats aren't what we're used to but that's fine (bacon is more like fatty Spanish bacon/Spanish sausages etc) but pancakes, breads, pastries are great!! Chocolate fountain everyday was a great bonus. Rooms (7/10) Fairly basic rooms, but plenty of storage space, and the shower was great, very powerful! Bed takes up 80% of it - only things that could make it better is if there was a kettle, more pillows and just a few more nice touches. Location (7/10) Not in the busiest area, but that doesn't matter so much if you aren't looking to visit many local bars etc! Very easy to get the hotel to get a taxi to the local market/other areas nearby. The beach is great, so big and open (small pebbles) and we also got the little red bikes up and down the beach path! Beach path is great to walk down. If you're on the fence, go for it! I agree with the comments that there's a lot of Spanish guests, but that's just the area of Spain, this whole region is very Spanishy! They did seem to have Spanish guests more over at the Park side of the hotel, we actualy had loads of English to interact with each day, and never had issues with the staff not speaking very well English (we just made sure to say please and thank you's in Spanish!)

"Don’t waste your money!!!!!"

2.0

We are here at the moment and considered leaving early to get a flight back to the uk. This is our third visit here, having been here this time last year which was great fun. The hotel really does need a complete refit from the very dirty pool to the sun beds that a very high percentage needs to be replaced . A lot of the staff a very ignorant towards British people(seems that a lot of reviewers are saying this!) The food has deteriorated noticeably since the last time we were here served Luke warm at best and freezing cold at worst. If any of my fellow brits or even other nationalities are reading this…. Please do not come here do your research and book another holiday

"Perfect for retired Spanish but for British families this should be a no go!!"

2.0

Where to begin? Booked through Jet2 holidays and on arrival the hotel seemed nice but when we got to the room it was facing the road and the balcony was low enough that our 9 year old could have easily fallen over so we asked for a different room which the staff did accommodate. We made our way to the restaurant for the first of our all inclusive meals whilst there was a fair bit of selection it was all aimed at the Spanish visitors with just hotdogs pizzas and chips for the Brits this theme continued throughout the holiday at every meal time, the Asia and grill restaurants were both closed all holiday which seems a little unfair on people booking for the last knockings of the summer season. Ok let's move onto the pool/pools, the pool was very quiet and we soon found out why, no inflatables allowed so squirtle the turtle had to return to the room, nevermind we'll get a ball, oh wait no there not allowed either, oh well we'll play with the water pistols we have but yet again the lifeguards we're soon onto us having fun and put a top to it. So the main pool is for swimming and swimming alone any fun in the pool is reserved for the splash pool and slides area only problem there is that there isn't enough room to play in the water it's simple there to catch you at the bottom of the slides. After the evening meal (again pizza and chips for those not adventurous enough to risk the Spanish cuisine) it's onto the entertainment with the kids disco starting at 9.30 ish followed by a live act which was exclusively in Spanish so became very boring very quickly so a couple of drinks and a game of top trumps on the balcony it was and off to bed ready for the next day. If like me you like to wake up and have a coffee on the balcony before you venture for breakfast then forget it, there is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and to make matters worse you can't get one before the restaurant opens at 8 where you can enjoy a coffee with yet more luke warm food before you go to the pool to enjoy another day of nothingness baring 30 mins of water aerobics at lunch time. There is very little aimed at keeping children entertained throughout the day with the water slides the only thing for them to do. The surrounding area to the hotel is like a ghost town with the bars and restaurants not really within walking distance and a walk down the beach front doesn't throw up many options. If your over 65 and looking for a Spanish experience without the fun then this might appeal but anyone with a family this should definitely be near the bottom of your list of places to visit.

"Our family had a great time but small improvements can be made."

8.0

Friendly staff at the bars, kids program was great as well as the evening entertainment. Tapas at the bar great, lots of flavour and choice. The ladies making the fresh crepes were lovely. Housekeeping ladies are really friendly and do such a lovely job. Thank you Luz!

The reception staff had limited knowledge or were not forthcoming about local activities (bike hire or local train) , Restaurant staff would be nice if they would smile and not treat you like a number. Food choices was plenty but the restaurant food was VERY bland and lots of frozen and processed food!! Not what you expect if you come to Spain!!
