Hampton Inn & Suites Clinton - I-26

I didn't actually stay in this hotel because I canceled my reservation before it got to that point due to the general manager being extremely rude and YELLING at me on the phone because I had asked for my out-of-town guest's name to show up on the reservation confirmation. The receptionist who I made the booking through said she was going to email me two reservation confirmations, one with my name and one with my out-of-town's guest's name, but when I got the confirmations, they both had my name on them. When I called up to see if I could get my out-of-town guest's name to show up on the reservation, the general manager started yelling at me by saying: "MA'AM THAT IS NOT OUR POLICY!" and when I asked why she was yelling at me instead of the receptionist who provided the incorrect information, she just started yelling at me more; she said there had not been a woman on duty that morning, she had no way of checking who had made my reservation, and she didn't even know if I had made a reservation at that hotel (even though she had pulled it up on her computer with my reservation number and the confirmation clearly had the hotel's address on it). I didn't understand why she was yelling at me as if I had done something wrong and I most certainly wasn't going to let my out-of-town guest be on the receiving end of her filthy mood and unprofessional behavior, so I canceled the reservation.

I have come to expect a certain level from Hampton inns and this didn't quite match that expectation. The room wasn't super clean. The toilet was loose from the floor and so it moved. There was some debris on the floor. The conditioner container was empty. The ice maker was broken as was the microwave in the breakfast room. It might take some effort to get the ice maker repaired however it's pretty easy to pick up another microwave. It certainly was not worth the amount of money that I paid for the room for the night. Front desk clerk was friendly and helpful and we did enjoy the pooll

One outside door would not unlock with room key pass. Breakfast was very good. Price was very high for one night stay.

Only thing I would change is the mattress was very uncomfortable. The staff at check in was very nice and friendly despite the computer issues.

Stayed 5 nights for work recently. Check in was pleasant and Annalise was especially helpful and professional. Walked out to dinner at about 5 PM on Sunday and asked the evening desk clerk if there would be hot coffee available around 7pm and she said there would be. Came back at 7pm to find the Light Roast empty and the Dark Roast cold. When I informed the same clerk of this fact she said "thats why we put microwaves in the room, honey or there's a Keurig you can use" then promptly dismissed me to go back to her paperwork. Really? OK. So if your planning to work late, stop at the nearby Starbucks and get some coffee because the evening shift doesn't have any. Breakfast is standard. Place seems clean. I unfortunately picked a 2nd floor room that seemed to have a corner with some fleas. Nothing unusual to a pet owner(happens from time to time) and I informed clerk upon checkout to have carpet treated. Just FYI - pets are only allowed on first and second floor. Overall, I can tell this hotel has some staffing challenges but for a budget stay not the worst.

Room was clean and comfortable. The updated/refurbished rooms are nice. Only negative was the cook didn’t show to prepare breakfast but compliments to the desk person for scrambling to do what she could!! Web
