Motel 6-Oceanside, CA, Marina

This place is very old and falling apart. They are clearly doing absolutely nothing for the place. They also let pets stay and there was dog poop on the ground in a few different places. There was also trash and cigarette butts all over the place. When I checked in I asked for a room away from the road because this place is directly on an intersection on a busy street. The young guy checking me in mumbled something about only having a space in the very back. I told him, yes, please a place as far away from the road as possible. He then shook his head no, and told me the only room was 102 which is the 2nd room from the road. I asked again if this was all that was available or if he please had another room away from the road. He told me no, this was the only room available. When i opened up the door of the room, it smelled like cigarettes (supposed to be non-smoking) and there was a grocery cart full of stuff in the room. I went back to the front desk and told him about the cigarette smell and stuff in the room. He replied in a very weird way that he guessed he "HAD" to give me a different room. This room was 109. 7 rooms BACK from the road from the first one. I am still wondering why he refused to give me that room to begin with. The room was still old, falling apart, and a waste of money, but at least i wasn't right next to the road. Do yourself a favor and spend more to go ANYWHERE but here.

Door "bar" lock broken, TV had to be reprogrammed when turned on each time. Ice Machine non-functioning, The bare necessities, were not really provided. Towels of a size acceptable for a small child perhaps.

No security guards were present on the grounds, and the security cameras were not in operation, according to the front desk. Around 2:30 AM, two individuals—who appeared to be under the influence of drugs—attempted to break into our room. They kicked the door, slammed their bodies against it, screamed and yelled at us to open for over 20 minutes. While my family and I held the door shut, we called 911. Six police cars arrived and detained two individuals—an African American man and woman. When we went to the front desk to check out, we found the night watchman asleep at the desk throughout the entire incident. He apologized, admitting that the cameras were not operational and that he had not seen anything. The lack of working security cameras, the absence of security guards, and a sleeping night watchman turned this into a terrifying experience for my wife, daughter, granddaughter, miniature poodle, and me. I have been staying at Motel 6 for over 50 years, but never again. Thankfully, because Vice President J.D. Vance was attending a wedding nearby, there was an increased police presence, and officers responded swiftly. This entire ordeal could have been prevented with proper security and a more vigilant night watchman.

The place overall is good for only sleeping. Everything is walking distance which i really liked. Cleanlines wise it wasn’t so good. There was stains on the sheet and the floor was dirty. The restroom toilet stopped working and wouldn’t flush. They have windows which open but don’t have locks nor any safety around them which is a bit concerning.

Watch these guys they are theifs and when i ask them whats this on my pending statements they say they know nothing about it. So now i get ahold of hotels.Com they say we will look into it and get back to you in the following morning. And its now going on three days. No refund or phone call yet. This is the worst thing ive experianced with a hotel. Or a internet site that specializes in booking and screening these hotels its a shame they do business with such a hotel.

Horrible customer service and rooms where dirty and unsafe (deadbolts not working etc.)

Very nice place

I just stay only 1 night in motel 6. I have not good experience . There was not hot water in tab. Floor is dirty. Sink is not good.
