Hilton Garden Inn Oxnard/Camarillo

Great hotel that is close but not directly next to the freeway. Clean rooms, good staff, nice location. There is a restaurant/bar inside the hotel and an outback a block away; very quick walk. Would stay again.

Paying a higher rate than average for the stay. Then having to pay for breakfast

In town for a trade show. Room was typical Hilton Garden Inn and I like that because of the Keurig Coffee Makers. I bring my own pucks as I like my coffee. The Good would be the bar staff. As small as it was, we met some fun people and shared a few stories over quality beverages. In the morning, I wake up to East Coast Time and went to make coffee... the machine made a 1/4 cup and stopped... Tried again, same thing. Went down to the lobby around 5 am local time and was told they don't have coffee until 6 am. Really? To their credit, I was brought a new machine around 7:45. I had to leave a 8 am. While working at the desk, I kept hearing this gurgling noise from the bathroom. After the third time, I went to look. See picture... The smell was just as horrid. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, both overnight and early shift staff, I was told they would report it. How nice Traveling on business, I do need more phone and computer plug-ins both C style and USB. Nothing. Breakfast staff was good and accommodating. French Toast was spot on. As a diamond member, I just didn't feel like a loyal customer of Hilton and this last stay was a prime example of the decline I've seen all year long.
