DO NOT STAY HERE! The check in lady lied about the price of our stay. She stated it would cost only 119.00 for our family and dog to stay here for the night saying we can have up to 5 people staying with no additional charge. . Some chose to stay here for this rate. When we checked out the sorry excuse for the GM that was at the desk charged us over 180.00 for the stay. Her excuse was because we had 3 adults. Which was me my wife and my elderly mother. Plus she charged an additional 35.00 for our dog. Again, we were all present including our dog at check in the the check in lady told us it would only be 119.00 for all of us. The GM called the check in lady at the time of our check out and of course the check in lady LIED about what she told us! Both the GM and the check in lady are LIARs and the sorry excuses for customer service reps I have ever experienced! I have been a Choice member for a while and this is the first time I have experienced LIARs and such POOR customers experience! Directors and owners of this HOTEL you should get ride of these 2 employees for they are extremely TOXIC for your business and will continue to have you receive bad reviews and continue to make you loose repeat business which is extremely important for any business to have, as you have lost my business. Also, there was a pill in the room that my dog got a hold of and lucky I was able to get it before he swallowed it! The room was dirty as well as the bath tub was extremely dirty. Also, a reflection of the onsite GM NOT DOING HER JOB! And to focused on luring to guest and charging them more then what they are supposed to be charged! I will also file a complaint to the BBB and as well with Choice Hotels on this stay! Your hotel should be removed from the Choice Hotel network due to these 2 employees! And such a horrible experience we encountered on our stay! Owners and directors LOOK AT TOUR REVIEWS DUE TO TUESE EMPLOYEES YOU HAVE! THEY ARE KILLING YOUR RATINGS! People look at these rating s these days! Get a better GM and loose your liars! This will help improve your overall ratings!

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. My family was staying at Comfort Suites Coralville while my brother was critically ill at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. During our stay, we were fortunate to receive lodging through Rossi Guest House, a University of Iowa program that helps families of critically ill patients. Because of this unexpected opportunity, I contacted the hotel to see if our reservation could be modified. Unfortunately, no accommodation was offered despite the circumstances. Even the Booking.com representative told us this was the first hotel they had encountered that refused a stay modification in a situation like this. What was most disappointing was the response from the general manager. I explained that we were in town because my brother was critically ill and hospitalized, yet there was no effort to show empathy, discuss options, or offer any flexibility. Instead, I was simply told it was hotel policy. While I understand policies exist, there are rare situations where compassion and common sense should matter. What made the interaction even more frustrating was that the conversation somehow shifted to the fact that the hotel used to have a water slide. We were not there for a vacation or to enjoy the pool. We were spending our days at the hospital with a critically ill family member. The lack of compassion and understanding shown during that interaction left a lasting impression and was far more disappointing than the reservation issue itself. There were also issues with the property itself. The first room we were assigned had such a strong fragrance that it triggered my asthma. We were told it was likely related to a previous guest smoking or using heavily scented products. The front desk employee was courteous and helpful, but had to obtain manager approval before we could move rooms.

Excellent

Hotel was good, breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly. We had an issue with the a/c not working, mechanical items break. We reported it to the front desk and the maintenance staff took care of the issue right away.
