VIU Hotel Villars

Lovely village, hotel is well situated and very well set up. Room was exceptional, view of valley lovely. Pool, sauna and steam room modern, clean and well appointed. Desk staff were very professional, breakfast was very good with lots of choice. Dinners were very disappointing, no choice, cheap ingredients, slow staff. We were on a premium tour with Senior Discovery Tours and did not pay for reconstituted fruit salad as desert two days in a row, or a huge sausage with over processed mashed potatoes and sloppy spinach.

The hotel was very nice, in great condition, spotlessly clean and located next to everything Villars has to offer. The room was large also well equipped and spotlessly clean with beautiful views of the Rhone Valley and the Dents du Midi. The daily included breakfast was delicious and offered plenty of choices for everyone. Our only negative was that the hotel's only restaurant served only Chinese food, which seemed an odd choice for Switzerland. We only ate there on our first evening because we were tired and didn't want to go out exploring after arriving late. The food itself was not inspiring and the wait staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves that in serving their clients. At the end of the meal having seen no wait staff for over 5 minutes I was forced to go into the kitchen area to find our waitress in order to ask for the bill.

Wellnessbereich top! Zimmer grosszügig und sauber. Frühstück sehr vielfältig und frisch.

Restaurant Horizon: Service! Wir gingen auf Terrasse, mussten Getränkekarte selber mitnehmen, anschliessend kam niemand der nach einer Bestellung fragte, obwohl nur ein Gast an der Bar drinnen sass....!? Wir hatten das Zimmer Richtung Strasse, wo die Bahn nicht unüberhörbar war.
