The Royal at Atlantis

Everything was amazing, traveled with 2 (13 year olds) the stay, the staff everything was super convent and just overall enjoyable! And I’m a very picky person!

Liked the property but felt like the pool chair rules weren’t clear.

The Royal was clean, fun, and ideal for our birthday trip. The staff at Fish Restaurant (Kendrick), the Chop Stix and Front Desk (Owan) were attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. The water park was fun and the slides were amusing. I especially appreciated the shark enclosure and the many spaces for the turtles and rays to cohabitate and be. The facilities were clean and neat. Thank you much!

This is the 2nd time to Atlantis. The 1st time we stayed in the cove. This time at the royal. There is tons to do. Lots of different types of restaurants and the grounds are hug with tons to walk through. The people are really nice and the beach has perfect sand and warm water. We are picky eaters so eating on vacation is tough for us. But we found several places we liked to eat and drink, we won a few bucks at the casino which is a bonus and we would definitely come back for a 3rd time. Would recommend and will return.

I wouldn’t recommend Atlantis for a family vacation. It’s extremely overpriced for what you get—the water park is outdated, poorly maintained, and even unsafe in some areas. Staff are unfriendly and unhelpful, and service across the resort is consistently disappointing. We paid extra for experiences like the dolphin encounter, which turned out to be a complete letdown—no real interaction, terrible quality photos, and no value for the high price. Even basic food and drinks are overpriced, with mandatory gratuities added to everything, and hospitality is essentially nonexistent. If you’re set on visiting the Bahamas, consider trying Baha Mar instead. While the overall culture of service in the Bahamas isn’t great, we found that outside Atlantis, things are slightly better, and Baha Mar felt more organized and guest-friendly. And if you’ve already paid for your trip to the Bahamas, absolutely book any dolphin experiences outside of Atlantis. Not only are they significantly cheaper, but you’ll get to actually interact with the animals, have a much more enjoyable experience, and receive dozens of great photos and videos. We booked with Blue Lagoon and paid much less than Atlantis, but got real quality time with dolphins and over 70 photos plus a video—all focused just on our family. In short, skip Atlantis if you’re looking for a truly special family experience. There are much better options out there.

The area around this hotel is absolutely breathtaking — the scenery alone is worth the trip. Unfortunately, the hotel itself doesn’t live up to its surroundings. The building is in desperate need of repairs and remodeling, with worn-out interiors that feel neglected. On top of that, the staff didn’t seem particularly friendly or motivated, almost as if they didn’t want to be there. With such an incredible location, it’s a shame the hotel experience falls short.

Staff was not very friendly. Ate at Poseidon’s for dinner, my daughter was very sick after eating there. Vomiting and in bed for a full day, visited the nurse, not much help. We made guest services aware and filled out an incident report at the nurse. We were not offered anything to compensate for our experience. Very disappointing experience overall at Atlantis. We wouldn’t return.
