DoubleTree by Hilton Galveston Beach

Great location! Felt very safe and secure. Traveled with 3 family members (one included a 4 month old). Bedroom was very spacious.

Blinds were VERY hard to open. I also did not like how there was not a spacious breakfast area for our family to eat at. I am very used to these, would have been nice to have this.

location - but we should not have paid so much - there were cheaper hotels ...... we only booked there because of the bar - WE all booked rooms there because the manager told Tom Shields (a guest ) that the bar would stay open past 10 if people were there. So we all arrived at 10 after our school reunion. And you guys were closing. Tom explained that is why we all - (about 15 people ) booked there. So this was disappointing.

We love the location. Stayed numerous times.

The lady at the front was so rude

I’ve stayed here a total of four times in my life. The first two were great, the last two, not so much. The first two times were over the 4th of July. Flew from Denver to Houston. Drove down to Galveston to stay the night. Get on a five-day cruise the next morning. Go back to the hotel after we disembarked. Stay the night. Drive to Houston and fly back to Denver. Though this time, we took a long vacation. We came from Colorado and tried to stay the night at that horrible Spark by Hilton in Dumas, TX. Then stayed at the Best Western Executive Inn in Corsicana, TX. Then we came here to DoubleTree. I remember our room number very vividly. It was room #516 on the top floor. Then we went on our 5-day cruise. Came back to the hotel and somehow got room #516 again. The hotel isn’t in the best shape. The front of the hotel where the overhang and front door are, has a ton of leaves and dirt. The worst I’ve seen. The lobby is furnished nicely. And when they built the place, the designers had the idea of putting the main elevator not even one step out of the lobby, and a service elevator down the hall. It was a great idea, and I’m not saying this sarcastically. But the one problem is, is that...the main elevator doesn’t...at all. And the service elevator goes slower than a sloth. I’m seriously! Why???!!! It was a great idea, and the manager and owner just decide to ruin it! But anyways, the hallways are actually quite nice. And the room looks nice at a first glance. The bathroom tile doesn’t look the cleanest. And the hotels pressure system needs to be updated. Sink, shower, and even the toilet will get a loss of pressure every five minutes. Once you turned the shower off, it would still drip, wasting about a gallon of water a minute. No even kidding. TV had a crack on it. There was one microwave for the entire floor in the hallway. I don’t like that. The mini fridge was from the 50s. Probably not that old, but the style is diffidently 50s. Bed was borderline okay. Patio was nice. Breakfast cost a bit of money. Wasn’t even worth it. Didn’t taste that good. There are diffidently elements of this place that are great. It’s literally across the street from the beach, so it has a beautiful location. There’s a little pool at the hotel that is fantastic. There is a pool-bar that is also the on-site restaurant. The food there is really good. It’s called “Longboard Pool Bar.” There’s also a ton of other restaurants around if you’re not interested. There’s a carnival down the street with activities, more food options, and rides. A great attraction. The location is a quadruple thumb up. But with the hotel itself, there’s quite a bit of room for improvement.

We love this hotel so much! We stay there about 4 times a year. All the rooms have amazing views. The location is awesome. The hotel is always clean and the staff especially Alex is absolutely amazing!! The only time we stay anywhere else is if we want to stay closer to the strand for walking reasons.

I am very disappointed with the breakfast buffet. The eggs are powered eggs! Not real eggs. The cinnamon rolls were cold! Who eats cold cinnamon rolls?? They need icing as well!. For the price I paid ..$22.00, I would not eat it again or recommend it! My family are gold members of this hotel. The employee Skye, was very nice when I asked him if he could heat the rolls up for us even tho I noticed he was the only one working. The rest of the buffet was sort of decent. Please upgrade your breakfast buffet!

Abgewohnt, Möbel kaputt und vermutlich 30-50 Jahre alt. Teppich verschlissen. Wirklich schlechter Zustand. Braucht dringend Renovierung.
