Breakfast was delicious. My husband can’t have milk and the owner kindly used almond milk when preparing breakfast. Friendly, interesting and joyful owners.

The owners were exceptional . We felt welcome from the minute we arrived. The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The owners put coffee on early in the morning as we are early risers. The grounds are well kept and the gazebo was overlooking the water with comfortable furniture where we enjoyed a glass of wine. We would highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

The only thing that could have been improved was the pillows were quite flat and needed to be replaced.

We loved everything about our stay. The property was amazing value. It was the best value on our 16 night trip from Ireland. Tom and Judy are exceptional hosts. The house was beautiful with a front porch and leads down to the river at the back.It was so welcoming and relaxed in every way. The breakfast was outstanding consisting of a combination of sweet and savoury courses. It was lovely to meet other guests at breakfast. We loved the comfortable and tastefully appointed room with everything at hand. Tom and Judy gave us such a welcome and even helped us with the itinerary for the rest of our trip. I would rate this property as a 10 for comfort, cleanliness and facilities. Thank you so much to Tom and Judy.

The hostess and host helped make the stay so much better. It was just what we needed for a short trip to the area. I can't rave enough about them. I'll be a giant billboard to advertise for them, LOL.

It rained. Oh, they don't control that!

The breakfast was exceptional. I enjoyed walking the neighborhood and seeing the Bald Eagles on my morning walk down the street before breakfast. I also enjoyed speaking with the proprietors and learning a bit about the house, neighborhood, and that area of Maine. As you can see, I would highly recommend the Black Lantern Bed and Breakfast.

Property was beautiful. So many flowers, overlooking a river. Walk to bowdoin.

Friendly, attentive hosts. Wonderful huge breakfast. Excellent scones. Beautiful grounds. Nice public spaces. Peaceful, relaxing and Quiet. We were able to walk to the restaurant for dinner.

Not a deal breaker but the room was too hot until well after midnight. The a/c was not powerful enough to cool the room properly and there was no ceiling fan. Also with the a/c in the window we couldn’t lower shade completely so the room didn’t darken enough.
