Wheatacre White Lion

The White Lion is an absolute gem. The staff are spot on and the rooms are clean and very comfy. The restaurant is exceptional as is the menu. We had to cancel breakfast so they made us bacon butties to go.

Didn't stop for breakfast. It was a sunday morning and didn't start until 9.30. I had to leave early to go to a walking challenge event.

All good. I didn't make the most of the stay as it was a convenient place to sleep. I arrived late and left early.

It is a very cozy hotel with very friendly staff, the bed was very comfortable, not too modern but everything was clean. food in the restaurant was excellent and well presented.

A little noisey, you could hear other people in thier rooms and doors opening and closing but it was a pub/hotel so you have to accept this sometimes.

Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Rooms were huge and clean. Breakfast was plentiful.

Breakfast was excellent, generous helpings and served quickly with a smile. Dinner was also high quality and service was exceptional. One member even offered us a ride when taxis were not available.

Our room was located above the bar area. There was very loud live music which played long after its time and could be heard and felt till midnight.

Very attractive gastro pub off the beaten track. Excellent food and range of drinks. I was fortunate the weather was glorious so an evening in the beer garden was appreciated. The room was a good size if only a little dated. The large sash window offered little in sound proofing but had the most glorious view across a field of sunflowers. Breakfast was ordered and freshly served in the main dining hall. You could tell the produce was fresh and locally sourced. Very appetising. In all a very enjoyable evening and overnight stay. The location is quiet and off the beaten track which was perfect for my needs.
