Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort

Let's list the positive : The staff is really nice, the food and bar are decent, really cute area for family with a lot of potentia, l however I would not recommend this place unless you don't mind sleeping in dirty sheets (the colors of the sheets are not even white anymore) and they smell old, I doubt that they washed them before guests. The towels were so old and smelly too, with stains all over. The floor of the bathroom is stained and the floor is so old and dirty. No tv no hairdryer either, very old heater system. We were not expecting a lot for the price we paid, but we were at least expecting some clean sheets and towels like every location we have stayed in the past! very sad to let such a pretty property go downhill. It was not a pleasant stay considering we were with our in laws, they were not very impressed to say the least. We got a coupon of $81.00 from Hotels.com which honestly is a joke. At this point it's not about the money is more to let them know that it is not acceptable to list this property unless they remodel or invest in some bedding and towels! Hopefully they will remodel one day because I know my kids love their ski area.

Such a beautiful area! Make sure you get a casita. Queen bed and a pullout couch! So amazing!

This was a great place to stop for the night on our way to Colorado. Simple, clean, with friendly people. There wasn’t a tv in our room which was fine with us and the building is old. It was very clean though and comfortable. 37 degrees when we arrived late at night in June. Brrr. A beautiful river and trees created us in the morning!! We loved it!

My family and I made a reservation for Saturday, October 6th at Sipapu Ski Resort. We went to check in to find out that the restaurant on the premises isn't even open during this time of year and that we would have to go into Taos to eat dinner. We weren't happy with that news, but we collected our keys to our room and drove down to the lodge. We went into the side door and I was immediately taken back. There were flies in the hallway and the floor was covered in dirt and dead insects. The smell of stale smoke was in the hallway as well. We went down into our room and I was so shocked that a place thought it would be ok to allow someone to check into a room like this. First, we immediately had to kill two wasps that were in the rooms. The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in forever and the smell of dirt and stale smoke lingered in the air in this room as well. We left and went back to check in to let the person know we would not be staying in this room or at this "resort". We were told we would receive a refund and she even used the words "I understand exactly what you are talking about" to my husband when he told her about the condition of the room. We have yet to receive our refund and when we had Hotels.com contact them about this situation, no one was there to answer their phone. I have also attempted to call and I have not been able to get in touch with anyone. This is really unfortunate because the outside area of this property is beautiful.

I wish that services such as restaurants and bar and vending shop would have been open later, but it being June and the property being a ski lodge, I understand. Given the off season, the price was very reasonable, the seclusion and peace was well appreciated, and my companion and I enjoyed the restful stay.

Wasn't greeted, was booked in a room that was already booked... the place looked fairly empty and the staff kept trying to put us as close as possible to a family reunion where it was loud. Wall heaters in units are extremely loud and had to be off to get some rest, so it was cold. Bar and restaurant close by 8pm on weekends.
