Wharf Master's Inn

What a pleasant and delightful find the Wharfmasters Inn at Point Arena is. The front office staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were remodeled and had wonderful views of the water. We liked it so much our group has already booked again for next year!

We loved this place . Unfortunately we arrived at 7:30 pm so was not able to make the most of enjoying sunset from our balcony . The views are stunning and the hosts are friendly . Super chilled and got to charge our Tesla for the next leg of the road trip . Next time I will be back for 2 nights to fully enjoy the stay

Beautiful location with awesome ocean views. A real plus is their access to the conservation land behind their inn. We enjoyed hiking on it. Mellow, peaceful atmosphere. Stayed in an ocean view King bed room with balcony. Pretty windy and cool during our stay, but that didn't detract from our experience. The Inn Keepers, Karen and Clifford, are nice folks who are very helpful and welcoming. The weekday rates are a good value. We decided to stay an extra day which was on a Saturday. The rate increased with no value added--so that was disappointing. The room was clean and inviting--nicely decorated in a nautical theme. The one amenity that created a problem for us is the jetted tubs in the rooms. The people above us used theirs and the rumble it created was so loud that we had to leave our room and go outside for an hour. And this was after 8pm in the evening-- inconvenient for us, as we were settling in for the night. ( A suggestion would be to acoustically dampen the sound by dropping the ceilings and putting insulation in the room ceilings on the 1st and 2nd floors.) We walked to the wharf and had the most delicious pizza and fresh organic salad at the restaurant there. Pick your room carefully, as there are stairs and no elevator--which they explain in the room descriptions. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Short getaway from the central valley. We enjoyed our room with a balcony and full ocean view. Hotel grounds were were charming and very well kept. Clean and spacious, very helpful staff and below our view were a pizza place and restaurant. Enjoyed it all!

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at the Wharf Master’s Inn over Mother’s Day weekend. Karen is an exceptional host who truly goes above and beyond—her attention to detail made our visit feel extra special. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, featuring charming planters, tranquil fountains, and plenty of activities to enjoy. The rooms are incredibly cozy, and the beds are very comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind. The fireplace adds an extra special touch and creates such a warm, inviting atmosphere. It was the perfect setting for a relaxing and memorable getaway—we can’t wait to come back!

We had the most wonderful first visit to Point Arena this weekend, and Wharf Masters Inn made it absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Karen greeted us with such warmth that we knew right away we were in good hands. Our room (113) was comfortable, clean, and exactly what we needed after a long drive. The inn is just minutes from the lighthouse, which made exploring so easy. Kelly from the restaurant staff was super friendly and a great way to start the mornings — but the real highlight of our stay came Saturday night. Our group of 10 was hungry and couldn't find a restaurant that could accommodate us, and Karen worked pure magic — she whipped up a homemade seafood cioppino with the most delicious garlic bread and made sure all ten of us had a proper dinner. That kind of hospitality is rare and it genuinely moved us. We later found out that Karen and Cliff are the owners, and honestly, it all made sense. The care they put into this place shows in every detail and in every interaction. And the property itself is just gorgeous — the garden area is beautifully kept and the ocean lookout spots are absolutely breathtaking. We could have spent hours just taking it all in. We are already planning our return trip and can't wait to bring more friends and family to experience Point Arena and this gem of an inn. Highly, highly recommend!

Beautiful! Loved the hotel, the views of the coast are stunning. Rooms very comfortable. Owner is lovely! We will be going back.

Had a wonderful time staying here for my birthday weekend. The view from our balcony was terrific. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff very nice. Had a nice breakfast too. Small beach and pier, a few shops and restaurants very close by. If you are looking for a place that is tucked away on the Northern California Coast, this is the place.
