Motel Sun Inn

We walked into the hotel, which felt like an "rent by the hour" hotel. Hotel smelled. Walked into room and flipped on the main light switch by the door, didn't work. Had to hunt for another light. Sheets were stained on one of the beds. Room had a "mildew" smell and the humidity was horrible. TV remote did not work. The TV was stuck on ROKU and could not get the cable box to work. The blankets on the bed are basically tissue paper. We were in the room for about 30 and just decided to leave. It was already late and I did not feel like confronting the staff there. Tell you what....STAY AWAY! RUN! Stay somewhere else! HOTELS.COM should take this hotel off their platform.

Everything was fine but barely having hot water was ridiculous.

Unfortunately, my stay was marred by some cleanliness issues. I noticed mold in the room and the air conditioning didn't seem to be fresh. The overall condition of the room wasn't up to par. Given these issues, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to others."

Pretty sure the deadbolt did not engage all the way as it would only go partway over. The glass sliding doors had the old style lock on it and no safety bars so it did not feel secure. There was food in the refrigerator left. The sheets were stained really bad. The bar I’m in the shower was missing. There was a hole in the bathroom door.

The room I stayed in was clean and quiet and the location is very nice being close to the lake. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Great value for price. Would go again in an instant.

The location was ideal for going to the beach. The beach was perfect. The hotel is run down but the room was clean, the shower was amazing and the AC was great. The check in was definitely concerning when you arrive you have to dial a phone outside a window with posters warning of the surveillance, that there's NO Breakfast, despite what the website says, and they charge you a $100 room deposit that took 5 days to drop off my credit card. The room was clean and comfortable with a fridge, microwave, TV all in great working condition and the bathroom was good. The bed was very clean and comfortable. The AC was ancient but worked great. The lobby and outside of the hotel weren't in good shape. The neighborhood didn't seem especially safe and the door locks were janky. My major concern was cleanliness and the room met my expectations.

It was comfortable, I would stay again, but i do not like the $100 deposit plus paying for the room. The deposit was for in case I smoked in the room. They need to get rid of that.
