Had to get another key for the 2nd night the original key did not work, this happens every time I stay in Motel 6, its very annoying.

Location. We stay at this hotel when in Martinez visiting friends. Over the years it has been a good place to stay.

This hotel has really gone bad recently. The mattress is lumpy, the refrigerator needs a shut-off switch, and the front desk staff is not very attentive. They've installed an electronic check-in system that has not gotten the bugs worked out yet. We arrived 10 minutes before 3pm, check in time, and though the room was ready, we were told that to check in early, we'd have to pay $45 extra. Never encountered that rule before, not anywhere. We won't be staying there again.

Comfy better than other motel 6 no shade

Room was clean

Check in and check out had to be done on a kiosk which made the process unnecessarily long and complicated. Also a refundable deposit was needed which was not a problem but they stated that it would be returned at checkout, then at checkout they said the deposit would be returned at 11 a.m. after the room had been inspected. I ended up getting the deposit refunded almost a week later after I contacted the property to ask how long it took to process. I never got a response from the property itself

Bed was clean and comfortable.

AC broken. Room smelled like a cat sprayed. No human in office. Some kiosk with remote workers to check me in. So no one to fix AC. BOOKING COM photos showed a clean, dated hotel. The view I had was of a power station next door, filthy area with dead grass and dog poop everywhere and squalor at the multiple dumpsters and people I think living there with vouchers sitting outside their rooms. I have to travel cheaply but $200 including a refundable deposit for Motel 6 is too much

The front desk staff member was friendly upon our arrival

Calling the front desk and no answer midday. Checking out was horrible. No staff at front desk. You deal with a virtual machine with a staff person on the screen. When I asked about my deposit they kept me waiting for 10 minutes and stated I didn’t leave a deposit but afterwards said I would receive my deposit after housekeeping cleans the room in 5 to 7 business days “depending if nothing was damaged or stolen “ his exact words. The towels, sheets and blankets were worn out and it wasn’t the first room we chose. The first room offered the vanity lights weren’t working. The room we got was not like the picture advertised.
