InterContinental Edinburgh The George by IHG

Excellent front desk attendants. Rooms are small but cozy. On site coffee shop serves high quality drinks and food with friendly staff. Mini bar is stocked daily with complimentary water and soft drinks- that was appreciated. Would definitely return!

This was a wonderful place to stay. We were within walking distance of multiple restaurants and pubs.

I stayed at the Intercontinental Edinburgh The George end of March for a couple of days. Excellent service. Tasty British breakfast. Good wifi. I'd stay here again for sure. It's grand old hotel, conveniently located in the new town. No crowds of tourists around. It's a 12-15 minute walk to the old town anyway. Lots of restaurants and shops around, and fairly close to the train station. My room was decent size and very comfortable. Comfortable bed, a small sitting area, and good snacks. Nice turndown service as well. I was facing a backyard - very quiet, although not much of a view. The bathroom was on a smaller side. One criticism I have is that the bathroom didn't have a proper walk-in shower but a bathtub with a 1/3 glass screen. It's convenient to clean I am sure, but it's very inconvenient otherwise - you have to stay in one corner of the tub to avoid flooding the bathroom while taking a shower. I expected better from the Intercontinental! I am taking a point off for that.
