Basin Harbor

Basin Harbor is a bit like stepping back in time. It is a charming resort full of old fashion touches. The location and grounds are beautiful and there are tons of activities for kids and grown ups. Many people seem to be regulars. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The rooms and the lodge, however, could definitely use some renovations and upgrades. Everything feels dated and could use some sprucing up. The room was tiny and darkish. There was no TV. Shower barely gave a couple of minutes of hot water.

A beautiful resort with so much history and beautiful grounds! Sorry we could not stay longer! The Red Mill restaurant is sooooo good there!

Fair, room had a broken lock so door didn’t close properly. Person was sent to fix it shortly before I checked out also bathroom window had very large cracks. Staff was very laid back about fixing broken lock, didn’t seem to care.

Complete resort, centered around an excellent golf course typical of Ireland/Scotland. Despite being huge, everthing seemed close to where we stayed.

First room (Champlain house) was very old. Luckily was able to move, new house was more up to date, shower temp was terrible, changed from hot to cold, back and forth for no reason. Deck was nice but not clean. Green algae was on the newer white trim boards. Power washing is easy and would do wonders. Definitely wouldn’t spend the money to stay there again, Amenties looked good although didn’t partake. Food at the Redmill was good.

It was awful. Door was unlocked, there was urine on the toilet seat and a spider on one of the beds

The gardens were beautiful. They tried to give us a step down room in very poor condition. The room we paid for they gave away and they could only get us in a semi decent room for half our stay. We had to rework our vacation and find places to stay. Without support from Orbitz they wouldn't have given us a refund. Even then they tried to give us 300.00 less. With Orbitz support it all worked out. I was so grateful we booked through Orbitz. We wouldn't go back. The pictures and amenities on the website are really misleading.

Beautiful grounds. Very small room

The cottage we had was dated but still perfect. View of the water, walking distance to pool. Dog friendly and very kid friendly. I recommend bringing your bikes.
