"Hotel and the room were clean, the stuff polite"

8.0

It's a good hotel to stay 1 night while awaiting your flight the next day. The restaurant and service in it was not good at all. Just almost non-existing.

It was absolute horror! The hotel was filled with people walking around in the middle of the night. The hotel was unclean, food was left around everywhere. I do not recommend.

"Athina Airport Hotel no longer suitable"

2.0

I would like to comment on my reservation at Athina Airport Hotel - 2 rooms for my family, arriving August 7 and departing August 8, 2016. We previously stayed in this hotel and enjoyed it. It is no longer possible to enjoy Athina Airport Hotel. This hotel is now hosting a large group of refugees (perhaps 200) from the Syrian War, housed there by the UN. While I sympathize with the plight of these people who have suffered greatly, their presence in the hotel makes it unsuitable for other guests. We would have left the hotel and gone somewhere else if we did not have a reservation and were not leaving the next day from the nearby airport. The Hotel’s facilities have been diminished as a result of the refugees. The pool is closed and blocked off with a fence; all water has been removed. The lobby is filthy, smelly, and its chairs are covered with food stains. It is difficult to move in the hallways as they are crowded children running to and fro. The refugees receive meals provided by the UN in the dining room, but this room is so crowded at mealtime that it is not possible for others to have a meal there. The staff are overwhelmed by the presence of so many people. Apart from my family and the refugees, I did not see any other guests. In short, the Athina Airport Hotel is little more than a refugee camp and is no longer suitable for customers. Hotels.com should immediately delist Athina Airport Hotel from its service. I request a full refund.

"Can't recommend this place..."

2.0

The hotel is close to the airport - the only positive thing I can say about it. Found a chewed piece of gum on a table, no wifi in the room which they said was included, the pool had no water, people were smoking in the restaurant/lobby. We were told, after checking in, by local Greeks that most of the hotel was being used as a reception center for asylum seekers. We have no problem with that, but there were children running up and down the hallways and playing in the parking lots. The only access to the hotel is via many steps or a slippery ramp that the children used as a slide.

"Frightening"

6.0

The hotel facilities were OK but was located in an industrial area with nothing to walk to. The 2 staff that I interacted with at the front desk were nice. Perhaps my timing was off. The parking lot and halls were filled with wild children, the large dining room and lobby were filled with people, even though the restaurant was not open. The bar was striped of all contents with kids behind it. People were carrying dishes and glasses to their room that they had taken from the dining room. The hotel was under siege by 150 refugees. Not poor ones but nicely dressed wild ones. The waitresses had to hide in the kitchen and other guests were leaving. We were only there for one night to catch an early morning flight. Had to order pizza delivery to eat on our rooms. I felt sorry for the staff. Hopefully the refugees were not staying long.
