The dividing walls seem pretty thin, so TV and conversations from adjacent rooms do intrude

The property has everything you need - facilities are clean and really well maintained. Most staff are really friendly and accommodating. For a traditional Riviera style hotel I would say the standard is very high and good value

It’s a little bit old fashioned and traditional in decor for our tastes but that’s a subjective opinion. Also the rooms are not particularly quiet so you can hear a lot of corridor noise from other guests coming and going in the mornings. Didn’t stop us sleeping well though.

The reception and pool area were nice.

So needs a good reform. The room was old and shabby. Meant to be four star 😡 everything screamed cheap and old.

location was brilliant. One is near the beach ( if you want it- although we stayed by the pool, which is excellent). There were no towel wars! We would go visiting in the daytime and be by the pool in the afternoon. It is next to a fantastic restaurant (Spelonca) and also the usual bars ( which were a bit of tourist traps) and also a supermarket and 10 min from the main Giardini bus station ( where one can take a trip to Taormina) and get there in 20 min. I loved being in this hotel in Giardini as it does not have the crowded feel of hotels in Taormina. Room was basic but all what one needs in the heat of Sicily ( aircondition, very clean, towels were clean). The pool was lovely and they had a bar and gelato stand by the pool!

A bit more info from staff. One can order espresso coffee at breakfast rather than the instant coffee that comes from the machine in the breakfast room. Tea again does not come naturally to espresso drinking Italians. There is no other coffee but a shot of espresso. they can do a bit more to promote their spa. I had two massages booked. Pre booked taxi to take us back to airport was late by 20 min and I was worried one would miss flight back, however the Catania airport is small and we made it in time. Informations from travel agents about what to take on trips was sparse as well ( if one visits Etna there is no need to thick jackets) just a summer jacket is enough- there was not a lot of ash around and if one visits Alcantara gorge take some water walking shoes and a bikini as the river is cold and one needs them. Beach in Giardinin is rocky and one needs shoes to get into the water as well. The pillows in the room were a bit thin and knotty, however we had a comfortable sleep every night. Hotel is quiet.
