Maritim Playa

We can't comment on the accommodation as we wasn't staying at the hotel but I wanted to write a quick review to say how much we enjoyed the octoberfest evening and entertainment. We wasn't staying at the hotel but when we went in to see what was happening we were made to feel very welcome by friendly staff and guests and probably had the best night of our holiday. We only wished that we were there for the following Saturday night festival.

I arrived at the maritime player on 11th of August 18 and still have a few days remaining. Me and my partner were happy that our request of a room away from noise was granted. Our room is very tidy and extremely well cleaned. The breakfast has a vast selection which is tasty and the pool is a good size and clean. In my experience here most guests are German and are very polite. The only down side is there isnt much going on around the pool as you are not aloud balls or floats. So it's no good for families with children although the beach is a small walk and there is plenty of food and drink places within a 5 minute walk. In the reviews I read before coming mentioned noise from the night clubs but I haven't witnessed any of this. Maybe because I'm on the top floor opposite side. Overall. Great!

Rooms very nice and clean, swimming pool was ok, but food was disgusting especially dinners. If you decide to spent holiday in this hotel dont bother with half board just eat outside. Also everything is in German hardly anything translated and you have to pay extra for everything. Little pay traps all over the hotel.

The hotel is located in the center of Playa del Ingles. Although a little bit affected by the time, the food service and room service are good. But the apartments located above the disco roof are a great misunderstanding. Those do not meet room standards at all. Every guest understands that a stay in the hotel is not a permanent silence. But... these appartements are horrible. We are unable to sleep every night from 23:00 to 06:00. Even, if they are probably cheaper, they are not worth that price. You either dont sleep, or you sleep during the day only. These rooms are only for the deaf people and for those who do not feel sense of vibrations. Nobody has informed us that we would lost in a whole week of a nightmare. It is not fair to sell a stay in such rooms. By the way, The reception only unfolded hands and nothing helped.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel for 8 days and it wasn't really what I expected. First of all, on arrival I went to the bathroom after a long flight. Between the towels I found a cockroach, which was removed after calling the reception. So I decided to let it go. The pictures of certain facilities which this hotel uses to promote themselves aren't freely available, a lot of things cost extra. 10,00 a day for airconditioning, 10 euros a day per person for the sun lounge, with the nice looking sunbeds, want to have a cup of coffee in the morning in your room? Gotta pay extra for the Dolce Gusto cups. Want to wash your glasses from the day before? Gotta pay extra for the dish soap and a sponge. Might've been honest to elaborate a bit more and not explain all the disappointments at check-in. We went out, had a couple drinks with a friend who was also staying on the island, in a different hotel. Wanted to have some drinks at our room, chat a bit more. When we arrived back at the hotel the night receptionist first asked for our room number, we gave it and proceeded to our room. 2 minutes later he knocked on the door and started to ask why we had an nonpaying guest and why we smuggled him in (did nothing like that, he just walked in with us). When I explained he was staying for drinks and I refused to kick him out the guy threatened to call the police. I demanded to speak to his superior and he kept on yelling about calling the police. After a while I decided I was done talking to him so I simply closed the door, to go down to the reception a couple minutes later. The lady there was a bit more reasonable. She listened to my story and told me it was okay, as long as he didn't sleep at the hotel and that they had to be strict about it cause a lot of guys try to take hookers up to their room. In my case, she had no reason to worry about that. So, another day we wanted the room cleaned. We were almost ready to leave for the beach and the cleaning lady knocked on the door, came in and started cleaning and moving our stuff around. In my opinion it is custom to go to the next room and come back after the guests have left the room. She clearly had a different opinion. And, during one of the last nights, another cockroach surprised me. This time on top of the fridge in the middle of the night. A few little other things that annoyed me: - we had a 2 person appartement room, but in the bedroom there was only a single wall socket. So, one of us had to leave his phone in the living. - pool closing at 19:00, way to early in my opinion. - breakfast buffet, most illogical thing I've ever seen, and I've seen a good share of hotels in my service industry career. - coffee at breakfast was horrible, watered down or something? They did however have a couple of very friendly and helpful staff members! Almost forgot, we chose for this hotel cause of the adult-only advertisement, however we did encounter a couple of kids in the pool. Forgot to ask the reception about it though, but apparently it is a bit unclear what kind of hotel this is.

I spent about 1 week there. Located in the older part, right opposit the Kasbah shopping. The area is quite run down, but there it seems like now hotel are renovated. Lots of restaurant are cheap, but really not really good. Walking distance to Yumbo about 10 minutes, 15 minutes to Cita. At night very busy, with some clubs, speically on the weekends its very lifely till the early morning.Maritim ist an older building, very thin windows. So you have the noise all in the room. Hard to get a good night sleep. Room is quite old fashioned, and the furniture are not really comfortable. Very clean keeped and the daily service is very good. Breakfast is great. Every day different dishes and a big choice. Nice staff, efficient. All staff speaks German, because is Family owned. Pool is small, and there is a gym, which looks good. Walking distance to the beach is about 8 minutes too. Very many families and older frequent guests. WIFI was very bad. And quite expensive.
