Barceló Maya Tropical - All Inclusive

Resort is beautiful, staff are accommodating and there is no shortage of things to do. Great variety of food and restaurants are excellent. Stayed in a premium room, it was nothing special but we weren’t there for the room. Premium services however are more than worth the upgrade.

Our family of 13 adults spent our holiday vacation at the Barceló Maya, and it was an outstanding experience — a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars. The staff consistently went above and beyond, including helping our elderly parents.... Every aspect of the all-inclusive experience exceeded our expectations: accommodations, dining, service, and overall organization. A special thank-you to the Premiere staff, and in particular Luz Barrados, who truly delivered VIP-level service. Luz went above and beyond in every way. Our entire group plans to return next season largely because of Luz's exceptional Vip level assistance. We also want to recognize the spa team, especially the front desk staff, the hydrotherapy staff and Katia. We all enjoyed the hydrotherapy, and the staff were consistently smiling, professional, and helpful. This resort handled a large family group beautifully, and every member of our family left impressed. We would absolutely recommend the Barceló Maya and look forward to returning.

Barcelo Maya Tropical is our place for vacation for many years. The room was very clean and the service was outstanding as usual. We visit Barcelo Maya hotels every year and we are very happy with this place where friendly staff makes you fill yourself at home!

I am a multiple return guest to Barcelo and each time they never fail to impress. I had emailed ahead of time saying that I was coming for another visit and bringing friends with that had never been before and could we be placed in the same building. A young woman called Luz Sosa from Premium level responded promptly . They did accommodate that and she went above and beyond in other areas also .One of my guests had a birthday the day after we arrived , ( 75 years ) I had also mentioned that and they had a small birthday cake on the table when we came back from breakfast ( in both rooms ) For lunch we went to the Mariachi Grill for lunch where they brought another cake and all came and sang to her. It was very memorable . Breakfast at the buffet never disappoints, I love the fresh fruit , an omelet made to order with everything you want. Hot fresh coffee that the server kept full and lets not forget the endless mimosas that our server Jose Arcos was happy to provide when empty. ( and always with a smile ) For the first time in all my many visits , there was a batch of turtle eggs in the enclosure, I was so excited in hoping that maybe in out 2 week stay we might see them hatch. We discovered the life guard in charge of them and he met us every day after the due date to check and see but unfortunately they didn't hatch until a few days after we left but there was video on the " Barcelo group" No sargassum during our stay , which is typical for Nov so I was glad of that. We went on a sunset catamaran cruise. The resort booked it for us ($89 us) they picked us up and took us to Puerto Aventuras where the Catamaran left from. It included an open bar and a snack tray. Well worth it !! Again many thanks to all the staff at Barcelo for always making my trip a memorable one .See you again soon

Our room was not cheated properly . Thus is my first time at Tropical and last . Caribe is much much better .

We love this resort. The grounds, the beach, the staff. Our 5th trip in 4 years to Barcelo Maya. Took advantage of some of the premium perks and got room service a few times. Pool was warm, ocean was beautiful. Missed the final turtle hatchling release by about 20 mins, so we'll just have to come back next year....

Never coming back 😪 the houseskipping won't come to clean unless u tip,servers the same....beach sand amazing, the water great but u couldn't swim because was full of stones

We are currently staying at this hotel in room 7120, and the experience has been extremely disappointing. The rooms are very old. On the first day, the door lock didn’t work — it was eventually repaired. The shower fills with water while you’re using it. The main wall outlet doesn’t work and is literally coming loose. But these are minor issues compared to the rest. The worst problem is the air conditioner. It constantly leaks into the room. It has been “fixed” three times already. After the most recent repair yesterday, we had to sleep all night with a strong oily smell, the unit became even louder, and this morning we woke up to another flood. There was about 1 cm of water on the floor, and we had to use all our towels just to clean it up. This is the worst room I have ever seen in any hotel in Mexico. Think very carefully before choosing this place for your vacation. Room 7120, Yucatán.

One of the cleanest resorts I have visited. Plenty of activities and quiet areas throughout the resort.

We have stayed at this resort several times since 2012 and we will return. The grounds, service and food are always top notch. The rooms can use a face lift as I do not think they have been renovated. We had a flood in our room on day two and had to pack and switch rooms at 3 am. It was evident there was an issue with flooding before, however, we did not realize that the repairs were never completed. This caused a tripping hazard in the darkness of the night for our family. The water was pouring into the room on our clothes and shoes outside the bathroom. The food is always good and the service is excellent. The grounds are great. The beds were old and worn. The TVs in each room were crappy and never worked properly. The rooms are definitely not a 5 star.
