Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe

Like both places in the old town, they look old, but they’re actually quite new. I generally pick a hotel for the location and this one was right in the heart of the old city walkable to every restaurant and attraction there.

For such kind of hotel category - it was dispointing - The location is great, the rooms were ok but not very special, breakfast was ok but not special, the staff at reception was friendly but not very enthusiastic in helping for questions, the SPA area cannot be recomemnded - massages were officially offered, practically closed in the hotel because lack of staff, only very limited available options in another hotel (if it is raining not a pleasure) - unfriendly communication by the SPA staff, reception was not interested at all. Next time , definitely not again in this hotel -. there are much better opportunities according to our recent experiences, like Gewandhaus Marriott, Hyperion...

Front desk was very helpful. Hotel is located on a large plaza near Frauenkirke and about a 30 minute walk from the train station. Info office is located in the basement of building directly across from the hotel. Elbe is a short walk away and parking for the hotel is in the garage below the hotel.

I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. We stayed here for a week as we wanted to immerse ourselves in Dresden, which to my mind is the most beautiful city in Europe. From the moment we arrived, being greeted by a friendly professional receptionist to the moment we left everything was perfect. Our room on the 4th floor was perfect, cleaned to a high standard, comfortable beds and quiet. Breakfast was a delight, so much choice from various breads/rolls, ham, eggs cooked any way you want, cheeses, fruit, hot sausages, bacon, beans etc. The waiting staff were all friendly and professional. We ate in the lobby bar on two evenings and again well cooked and presented food by professional bar staff. The hotel is in a prime position right across the square from the Freuenkirche and easily walkable to all the major landmarks. If we ever come back to Dresden we would definitely stay here again. we booked a non refundable rate well in advance.. so superb cost benefit.and then an upgrade to a suite on the 5th floor..which made this one of our best hotel experiences.the suite was superbly done up in impeccable taste.the frigobar was included in the room rate and was well stocked. the windows looked out at the main square .and the service especially at the reception superb.with reccomendations on restaurants and sight seeing..

We loved our stay here. Room great size, very comfy beds and nice bathroom with shower. Beautiful breakfast buffet and food for a quick bite is available in lobby bar area. Staff was courteous and accommodating. Perfect location right in the center of tourist area in Dresden.

Stayed for 2 nights b&b early September 2024. The hotel is located on a main square very close to Dresden cathedral. Lots of shops and restaurants close by. The room we had was clean and comfortable and of a good size. Separate bathroom with bath/ shower also of a good size. Room well laid out with room for suitcases etc. Public areas clean and well maintained. Ample choice at breakfast with outdoor balcony area overlooking the square in good weather. River Elbe 5 to 6 minutes walk All staff we encountered spoke excellent English Would definitely recommend

Wonderful and comfortable stay at a Betty centrally located hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff and hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Will definitely stay there again.

Great Hotel in an excellent location that leaves nothing to be desired. The hotel is basically right across the Frauenkirche and in walking distance to all major attractions. Breakfast was out of this world, in taste and presentation. Dinner as well, nicely present and an explosion to your taste buds (we had a spicy twist on the Schnitzel). Rooms are spacious and very clean. The bar at the hotel is next to the lobby, parking conveniently below.

We had a good stay at the Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe. We had booked two rooms which were conveniently located next to each other. Breakfast had a good range of options. The hotel is located very centrally to explore Dresden.
