The ac didn’t work the blankets and sheets had burn holes in them and the management was not friendly

I did not eat breakfast. The location is fine

I made a reservation online, including my home address. When I arrived at the hotel I was told that I was considered a "local" and that I would have to pay a $50 dollar deposit. This despite the fact that I live on Hilton Head Island, a considerable distance from Hardeeville. Nothing was mentioned about this deposit when I reserved online. I objected and attempted to cancel my reservation, but was told cancellation was not allowed. I had reserved the room online around 5 minutes previously. This was at around 5 o'clock in the afternoon. I live on a boat on Hilton Head and will occasionally stay at a motel when there is maintenance being performed on my vessel. I have stayed at several other properties over the years and have never been asked to pay a deposit because I was a "local". The desk attendant, who was quite unpleasant, informed me that none of the other properties in the area would even rent to "locals". I happen to know this to be completely untrue. Though I have stayed at Wyndam Properties many times in the past I will never do so again.
