"Good hotel with great facilities in quiet location"

8.0

We had a very pleasant stay in this 5 star resort however I would rate over all as a 4.5 star. None the less it was an excellent stay and would recommend. There are a couple of things which are superior- the kids facilities, the food, the views, the size of the hotel and its gardens and pools. There are also however a couple of niggles which we had, these were the charge for half board customers to use their fridge (which is locked) and you have to purchase a drinks plan to get access, this is only 10 euros for some water but other hotels provide this for you. The sunbed situation is another gripe. Not sure now you would get around folks reserving their plots and not using it. Also we reserved a Bali bed for a few of 40 Euro which was lovely. However we went out to sit on it at 10am and it wasn't made. We had to make it ourselves and had to ask someone for our water and fruit etc an hour later as no one had come to ask us what we wanted. Not one person came by and asked us if we wanted any further drinks etc. We were on bed 8. The water we got included in the package was warm and the fruit scewers were served on a saucer and were very small. Not great! Apart from that we really enjoyed the hotel, used the great spa and loved the evening entertainment and kids club facilities. The food was great and varied and staff helpful. We have stayed at serveral top quality hotels around Europe and this was on par with some but they do need to up their game in some minor areas

"Great famiy hotel - worth a visit"

10.0

Stayed at the Roca Nivaria in March 2017 with my husband and two-year-old son, and can safely say I'd go back there like a shot. Great hotel - good facilities, two lovely pools (though one is extremely salty, so take goggles if you plan on swimming much), friendly service and a dinner that's as good as or better than any hotel buffet I've had before. Our son stayed happily in the Baby Club each day, where the staff were friendly and took good care of the children. Baby Club is open for two three-hour slots each day, and you can use some or all of that time as you wish. With no additional charge for the club, it's one of the big advantages of the hotel for those with young children. A few tiny flies in the ointment: you have to buy a very overpriced drinks package in order to have access to the minibar in the room, spa treatments are very expensive, and the salt content of the top pool leaves you feeling a little sticky. Otherwise, drinks etc. are well priced though. Well worth a visit - would highly recommend!

"Nice hotel just isolated and gave us cabin fever"

4.0

A nice hotel and couldn't complain about the room itself. We had a family (or junior) suite with our 2yr old daughter. This meant one room with a sofa, tv, dining table and a single bed with bed guards. Leading through to the master bedroom with an en suite - which had a separate bath, shower, toilet and two sinks. Both rooms had a door through to a huge terrace which had the Sun in the afternoon. The only issue was our huge double bed was in fact two singles. Pushed together but still made as single beds - so not very encouraging of romance!! However we all slept very well - rooms are soundproofed which is great as can't hear the neighbours - apart from upstairs who seemed to be moving furniture every night?!? Kids club was a key reason we selected this hotel and with the reviews we were excited. Appreciate we were there low season, however one thing to know is you can only book 24 hours before - and they did get full. However worse than that was our daughter simply wouldn't settle. We left her for an hour to settle in first and came back to be told she'd been crying for 40 minutes!! She goes to nursery full time back home so very strange. From that moment she refused to stay alone, so we still used it (less) but one of us was with her always - not quite the break we'd envisioned. We definitely weren't the only ones that had this issue - many parents had to grudgingly hang around. The food was nice - buffet style. We were half board which was plenty. One thing to note is m

"Nice hotel with beautiful pools and spa"

8.0

Had a lovely relaxing 5-day break at Roca Nivaria. The layout of the hotel is so spread out with multiple buildings, corridors and lifts but almost no signage, that we kept getting lost and even the staff weren't sure of the way. Otherwise, very happy with the room (no mini bar which should be standard for a 5 star), very good food, excellent pool area. Worth mentioning that the location of the hotel is quite isolated with no beach and nothing happens in the evenings. We used the free shuttle to their sister hotel at Costa Adeje, where there is a lovely beach, bars and restaurants a short stroll away.
