Hometown Inn & Suites

This little hotel was great. The staff/owners were very pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean and nicely decorated with a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Their wifi worked well and there was a table and chair in the room where I could work as well as a very comfortable sitting chair that was clean. This may sound like a given ,but I stay out over 100 nights per year amd almost always stay at a Wyndham hotel. This isnt a Wyndham hotel and some of them could learn a thing or two from this little inn. Also, carpet in the room was super clean, likely new. Looked great and I didnt feel like I wanted to keep my shoes on.

We stayed at this hotel because they accepted the state of Iowa rate. The room was extremely comfortable, the bed was new and I slept great. You can run the fan on the air conditioner/heater all night to drown out any noise. The family who owns the hotel do everything themselves. They are kind and very willing to help with anything you might need. Awesome hotel, I would definitely stay there again.

The room was very nice, but unfortunately the manager couldn't have cared less whether we stayed there or not. We were back in town a day later, and I went to a different Motel to stay just because of the way we were treated. I know we all have bad days, but his job is to make people feel welcome and not sorry that they stayed there.

We were not expecting the Ritz and at first glance the room was okay despite the very strange smell. i woke up in the middle of the night and went to the bathroom. When I flipped on the light which also turns on the jet engine exhaust fan the roaches went running across the floor and inside the tub. We left as soon as we could in the morning while a roach was on the wall in the bedroom area. Mr. Patel at the front desk didn’t seem too concerned at all which I find almost more frightening than the roaches.

The hotel is dated. It serves the purpose for having a basic room with no luxuries. The restrooms are small but serve the purpose. Washington, Iowa is not exactly a tourist attraction. The hotel provides the necessities for conducting business in the area.

Yes I said roaches. Checked in late at night, planned on staying 2 nights for work... I woke up to use the bathroom around 3am and there I seen the first roach! I tried to go back to sleep but naturally thats all I could think about. Then I grab my soda off the night stand, and a roach came out of it... That was it. I asked for a refund at 5am (didnt get a full refund) but I was happy to leave. I drove another 30 miles to stay somewhere else. Other than that, the staff was friendly and bed was comfy. They just need to get rid of the roaches. That is unacceptable! Never have I had an experience like that before. YUCK

Located just north of town, this hotel was exactly what we needed for a family visit. The room was large and quiet and the staff friendly. The water pressure was poor, but the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very basic with only sweet muffins, waffles or cereal, but we never needed anything except coffee before visiting family anyway. Very limited sink countertop, and if you hung anything on the hanging rod, it limited the amount of space to stand by the sink. With all the space in the main room, I wish they had configured that better. The biggest criticism would be that the door to the hall opened directly next to the small sink, so if you were standing at the sink, you were definitely exposed to anyone walking by.

The manager had an attitude problem, but the other employees were customer friendly and helpful especially Silky and Viren. If there was a problem Silky and Viren worked to remedy it. The manager wasn't helpful at all. The ice machine wasn't working the whole time I was there. With new management, I would rate my experience higher. There is a great walking/cycling trail very near.

It was very comfortable and clean stay.I stay here before and they changed the bedding it is nice looking bedding. I liked the place and staff was very friendly. it was good breakfast. very clean hotel. i would stay here again, Thank you

They have obviously put some work into updating and maintaining this hotel! For a small town, locally owned place, I thought it was great! (I’ve stayed at MUCH much worse!) Our room was clean, with fresh carpet, paint and the bed seemed pretty new and was very comfortable. Room had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. I was surprised that for what we paid, breakfast was included! Not quite as robust as a Hampton Inn breakfast, but at least gave you something to start the day on! No complaints, and and I would have gone to 5-stars if they update the bathroom ceiling, upgrade to 1-level heavier bath towels, fix our slow sink drain and add just a few healthier breakfast options (a basket of apples and bananas would go a long ways)... Id even pay a bit more!
