12/17 and 12/18, I stayed at this Marriot for my mother in law funeral this week. We rented a 2BR suite for our family. It was a very nice room and typically I enjoy Marriot products. Room 118. We got in very late, ironed and went to bed. When packing suitcase Wednesday am I placed suitcase on bed and gathered everyone’s dirty clothes. Two large reddish brown bugs went across the bed from under the blanket. I grabbed my phone and took pictures. My daughter was horrified. I went to the front desk as I thought they were bed bugs. The front desk person said “those aren’t bed bugs, they are JUST a cockroach”. I asked for the manager telling him this is an emergency as I was going to be late for mother in law funeral. The female manager rolled her eyes at me. I told her I was going to be late for funeral and I would return. No offer to assist me at all. They could’ve have apologized and said you know what-let me bag your personal belongings and you can pick them up later. I told her that bed bugs and cockroaches lay eggs it is not just the actual bugs and now I would have them in my car and in the suitcases. I loaded my car and left. I did not return later as my family was grieving and we live in pa and had a long drive home. I did call this am and was completely dismissed by customer service. She stated there was no evidence of cockroach. She stated someone else would call me back and promptly HUNG UP on me. No one has called me back. I have pictures of their bed, time stamped with location of this property. I slept on a bed with roaches and they cannot even apologize? Instead they question my integrity. I did not take my belongings in my house. I threw my shoes away and having my car detailed on the inside to remove any possible eggs that we may have had on our shoes.

Where to start? This is only our first night and we are seriously considering checking out and contacting Marriott. I’ve been a Marriott member for a very long time and never seen such a poor representation. The lobby had several sketchy people hanging out- one drunk woman walked in and slammed the automatic doors for not reason, some guy in a hoodie was pacing between the elevator and outside over and over… the vibe was off. I ignored that, but it didn’t get better. Walked into a room that was 84 degrees and we couldn’t breathe, had to open the windows just to stay in the room. It’s the first time in YEARS that I’ve been to any hotel - even MOTELS - that had only ONE streaming channel and a tv so old I couldn’t even connect our phone. The couch mattress is so thin you can feel every spring and they only provide the thinnest ratty blanket you’ve ever seen. The entire night there were people yelling and running up and down our hallway. I mean ALL NIGHT, like, 2,3,4 am. Drunk adults, not children. Slamming doors. Even ear plugs were no help. And then, as icing on the cake, at SEVEN AM on a SATURDAY construction began RIGHT BEHIND the hotel- something that could have been mentioned somewhere on the site when booking. This used to be a decent hotel but I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!

The concierge was very helpful and the room was beautiful and comfortable. It had a full-size refrigerator, a freezer, and an icemaker. The room also came equipped with a kitchenette and glasses, silverware, and pots and pans. The breakfast was fantastic with waffles, eggs, kielbasa, sausage, cereal, and delicious coffee.
