Beliggenheten var grei, og personalet var hyggelige ved innsjekk.

Hotellet fremstår svært slitt og virker ikke å ha blitt oppgradert på mange år. Det var tydelige tegn til fukt flere steder, og enkelte områder så ut til å være malt over i stedet for ordentlig utbedret. Dette ga et dårlig inntrykk av vedlikeholdet. Inneklimaet føltes fuktig, og standarden gjorde at vi ble bekymret for både komfort og hygiene under oppholdet.

The view

We recently stayed at Protea Hotel at The Point in Mossel and we were extremely disappointed. The only redeeming feature is the view, which is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The moment you step onto the balcony, you’re hit with a strong smell of food and old oil, which completely ruins what should be a beautiful oceanfront experience. The hotel is clearly in need of serious maintenance and attention. The rooms feel neglected and poorly put together. The décor is completely mismatched and unprofessional — bubblegum-blue walls, clashing artwork, outdated check-pattern chairs, and dirty curtains with no inner sheers. It feels chaotic rather than curated. Cleanliness and finishing are below standard: Visible dirt and wear on soft furnishings Poor paintwork and overall upkeep General feeling of dampness in the room Amenities are very basic Coffee station not properly stocked, which is unexpected for a 4-star hotel While the bathroom fittings themselves are decent, the surrounding finishes and maintenance do not reflect a hotel of this rating. Overall, the property has incredible potential given its location, but it is currently badly maintained and falling far short of expectations. In its current state, it feels closer to a 2-star experience. We were so disappointed that we left without even having breakfast and will not be returning.

Het uizicht en de ligging zijn geweldig. Wel een echt hotel, waar we tijdens de reis vaak in kleinere zaken verbleven met persoonlijke aanpak handelt het personeel hier ook meer zoals in een groot hotel. De kamer had een geweldig uitzicht, een douche en groot ligbad maakten het compleet.

De lift was afgesloten gedurende de uren dat wij dienden uit te checken, met koffers en fietskoffer de trap af was even sukkelen en personeel schoot hierbij niet te hulp. Voor ons niet erg, voor minder mobiele mensen vast een heuse uitdaging.

Hotel is a little dated. but nothing a few minor cosmetic repairs could fix.

BREAKFAST NEEDS MUCH IMPROVEMENT. STAFF WERE GREAT.

TOO MUCH NOISE FROM THE RESTUARANTS TO THE ROOMS. TOO CLOSE BY.
