Baeren Hotel, The Bear Inn

We had a lovely 3-night stay at this beautiful heritage property. The location in the cozy town of Wilderswil is fantastic, offering truly wonderful surrounding views. It is very well-connected by train and bus, making it a convenient base for exploring. We found the staff to be very friendly, the breakfast was good, and our rooms were clean and cozy. We also appreciated that our personal preferences were considered during our stay.

I was surprised to see mixed reviews for this place online. It seems some guests arrive expecting 5-star modern facilities and then complain, but it is important to remember this is a well-maintained heritage property. The hotel is quite open about what to expect, and if you come with the right mindset for an older building, you will appreciate its charm. Yes, the floors are a bit squeaky, but that is entirely expected and part of the character of an old, historic property like this.

We had 3 nihhts stay in Bear Inn. Had 3 BK and 2 dinners there ( BC it rained 3 days !!). The restaurant is lovely and very delicious. Staff is wonderful, and I loved they let you order one person foundo with many different cheese flavors!! It's the best one of my 5 foundo experience in Europe. All the ingredients are top quality and seasoned well. .

As a hotel over 300 ys old, it's cramped and lack outlets, until I moved the end tables at bedside and found some. There is a fan and extension cord in the drawer. Make the stay easier.

The bed was very comfortable, the water pressure was really good too. The village is pretty and quiet. There are water fountains everywhere and it's only a 10 minute bus ride from the Interlaken west train station.

The walls were too thin and we could hear the neighbours singing, and the breakfast was not replenished regularly enough, and the options were limited.

Excellent breakfast with wide variety. Location is superb, only 800 meter from wilderswild station.

Location, food, ambience, staffs and overall safety and comfort.

Parts of the hotel are quaint with an other worldly feel.

The hotel is tired. The view from the room overlooks a parking lot with the mountains in the distant view. The room was quite basic, although clean and quiet. I didn't think it was value for money, it should be priced cheaper for the experience it offers.
