Baeren Hotel, The Bear Inn

Room was cozy and had great views. Quiet town away from tourists. Breakfast buffet included. Nice restaurant for lunch and dinner. The only downside was the lack of friendliness among staff, especially the evening waitress who was snippy from the start. The evening receptionist was also a little cold and the morning staff did not acknowledge us at all both mornings.

Character of the outside. Parking, and the downstairs decor, specifically the downstairs toilets were very smart and modern. Most of the waiting staff were friendly, the ladies waiting were more on the ball than the young lads.

The decor of the bed rooms was pretty old fashioned and was in need of a make over and modernisation. This looked to be the same for all rooms that we could see when they were being cleaned. We were on the 3rd floor and fire doors to landings were wedged open all the time.

This is a traditional Swiss style hotel in a village just outside of Interlaken. The location is stunning, with mountains visible from the neighbourhood, and there are good transport links to Interlaken with a regular bus service and frequent trains. You get a travel card when checking in, so we used this transport to get around. There is plenty of parking at the hotel, it cost 10 CHF a day. Our rooms were comfortable, albeit a little dated. There is no lift so we lugged our suitcase up 3 sets of stairs to the room. There is a kettle, but coffee/milk is extra. However the accommodation was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly too. We went for the half board option, and the evening meal was really good with a tasty selection of local dishes, plus a children’s menu. Breakfast was continental, although we found that by 9AM the food choice had become a bit more limited.

歴史を感じる外観のホテルにレストランが併設されています。夕食付きのプランで宿泊しましたが、夕食のクオリティーが非常に高くスタッフもフレンドリーで心配りの行き届いた素晴らしいサービスが受けられました。マウンテンビューの部屋でしたが景色最高です。

とにかく至る所がよく軋みます。上の部屋の歩く音ももろに聞こえてくるのが難点。音にデリケートな方には不向きです。
