"An okay place to stay the night if you're in Crete for a day to do some sightseeing."

Fair location: easy enough to walk to from the pier, about 10-15 minutes with a suitcase if you don't feel like spending money on the taxi. You'll definitely have to taxi to the palace of knossos. The room was okay, if a little small, but it had all it needed, except our AC didn't seem to work properly. Breakfast was decent, with a variety of options.

Our AC didn't work properly. Our room was pretty warm as a result.

Handy for the long distance bus station and close to the airport and Knossos busses. Everything was as expected and the breakfast buffet had plenty of choice. WiFi worked well as did the hot shower.
