При пляжном ресторане бармены излишне откровенно намекают на чаевые….

Cosa mi è piaciuto della struttura? La comodità di raggiungere tutte le sue parti in pochi minuti; la spiaggia e l’accesso diretto all’acqua senza barriera corallina a pochi passi dalla riva; la stanza, spaziosa e sempre pulitissima (grazie Karim), con una vista splendida; le persone deliziose che lavorano alla reception, in particolar modo Omar e Natalia, super disponibili e gentilissimi, che ci hanno aiutato - rispettivamente - con il late check out, il transfer all’aeroporto e l’organizzazione di una sorpresa di compleanno; la SPA, davvero bella e pulitissima (grazie alle mani d’oro di Roka e Ahmed, ci ricorderemo per sempre i loro massaggi). Anche al ristorante abbiamo mangiato sempre abbastanza bene e vario, alcuni dei piatti proposti erano davvero buoni!

Aside from the incident described below, we would have been satisfied with the hotel. But you absolutely must read about our experience with the hotel doctor.

W a r n i n g !!! During my stay at the Hotel Baron, I suffered from lumbago. I therefore had to see a doctor. At reception, I was recommended the hotel’s own doctor. He has a room in the basement of the hotel. I was examined and treated by the Egyptian doctor, who was assisted by a nurse who was present. During the first session, I was given an injection with pain-relieving and muscle-relaxing effects. The following day, the doctor recommended an infusion with slightly better results. A few days later, I visited the doctor again to tell him that I was feeling better and no longer needed any further treatment. The doctor explained that he would draw up the bill and that I could settle it a few days later. When my wife and I went to see the doctor, he presented us with a bill that truly shocked us. It amounted to a total of 2,200 euros. We were outraged by this horrendous, completely exorbitant bill and made this clear to the doctor. He, however, remained unimpressed and insisted on payment. Under pressure, we eventually paid by credit card. We then took the matter up with the hotel manager. He said that the hotel had no influence over the pricing of the doctor working at their establishment. My enquiries revealed that the treatment costs in Egypt (in a private clinic, mind you) would not have amounted to more than around 300 euros. I was therefore charged more than seven times the reasonable amount. My investigations revealed that, particularly in Germany, there are already numerous reports online of hotel guests being ripped off by medical partners of Egyptian hotels with massively inflated bills. It was shown that these medical providers act with such audacity in the knowledge that the bills will likely be settled by the patients’ insurance companies. This is quite clearly a dubious or even fraudulent business model, from which the hotel management does not even distance itself. The medical provider in question is the company ‘health partners’, based in Cairo,

Very calm and cosy place with the excellent riff and peaceful atmosphere. Unique beach for Sharm very wide and there is a possibility to swim for kids. The staff was attentive, special thanks to Ahmed Hamdi for his service. It was very convenient to get coupons for free laundry service and get back home with clean clothes. I believe it’s great value for money choice.

Rooms are certainly quite tied but clean. So I hope that management will find the way to renovate them soon.
