"Premium rooms and impeccable service"

I’ve been here for ten days and must say the hotel is exceptional on every metric. First, the staff. Everyone is friendly, efficient, helpful, and prompt. From reception to the bell staff to the concierge to housekeeping and butler services, just off the charts. You’re greeted by name and with a warm smile wherever you go. They want to make you happy and will go the extra mile, whether it’s steaming or pressing your clothes, bringing you a microwave and mini fridge, delivering your packages to the door, cleaning your room at odd time because you’re working so much, giving a treat at turndown service. Because I had so many suits they brought a rolling rack that fit them all. The room is spotless and really quiet. The electronic blackout shades are perfect. The bed is incredibly comfy, with top notch, large pillows and high thread count linens. The shower is lovely with a rainfall head and additional handheld. There’s also a soaking tub. Terry robe is plenty big, unlike the skimpy ones some “luxury” hotels have. Towels are fluffy. The amenities are first rate and include everything — even nice moistened makeup removers and an excellent lighted makeup mirror. The neighborhood has everything you need and the street is “activated” again, with people walking around at all hours. It feels very safe (and I’m an older woman). There’s a Target right down the street if you forget some necessities. To the person who said it doesn’t feel like “real” San Francisco, I don’t get it. Mission St is half a block away and Market is one and a half. You can walk to Embarcadero in ten minutes and be eating oysters at Hog Island in the Ferry Building, sipping champagne and watching sailboats on the bay. What’s more San Francisco than that? My only minor criticism is that the restaurant could use a better lunch and dinner menu. The food is high quality and well prepared but there should be more variety. After all, this is a restaurant city! And what they call coq au vin …… isn’t. Anyway, in the midst of a high stress business environment, the St Regis has been an island of calm and welcoming. I can’t recommend it enough either for business or pleasure.

It's a shame to call this hotel a St Regis as it lacks service and the entire hotel leaves you cold and not welcomed. The room was small room with cheap toilet paper. TV not working properly. Do not recommend this hotel if you're looking for a real St Regis experience.

"Lovely Hotel But No Real Feel of San Francisco"

Glorious hotel with lovely staff, but this hotel missed for us because the neighbourhood feels like many urban cities and misses a San Francisco feel. We love to walk through the parks and neighbourhoods in SF to see the views and wide range of architecture, but the St Regis area misses this. Other neighbourhod areas hum with a special SF energy that was absent here. SF residents are also very friendly but this is lost in polished service (however nice the staff were).

"Can’t Check In Without Husband, But At Least the Drinks Were Good: A St. Regis Chicago Experience"

Oh, the St. Regis San Francisco-where technically I made the reservation, but of course, I still couldn’t check in without calling my husband. Who needs access to a room when you’ve got a husband with Marriott status and a phone, right? But I digress, it only took an embarrassing call to clear that up. Once I finally got in, things went uphill. Rollaway bed was there, no need to ask for one (small victories). The bar? Let’s just say it was so good, we “accidentally” went back three times during a two-night stay. I mean, when the drinks are that amazing, who’s counting? We were lucky enough to catch Fleet Week from our room. Jets flying overhead? Check. Unexpected bonus: sharing the hotel with the entire Detroit Pistons team. Not intimidating at all to be surrounded by 20+ giants every time you enter the lobby. All in all, two days at the St. Regis wasn’t enough. We’ll definitely be back, assuming Marriott’s status gods deem me worthy of checking in again without involving a phone call to the powers that be! But hey, the rooms were modern, clean, spacious, and the hotel is now our top choice in San Fran (pending check-in logistics, of course).

"The TRUTH about St Regis"

I did a ton of research on hotels in the SF area and am so happy I landed on St Regis. I've done a lot of traveling all over the world and spent a lot of time at 5-star hotels. This one ranks right up with the best of them. This is a 4.5 star review, but I gave it the extra bump up to 5-stars for reasons below: The Good: * The BEST Amex FHR hotel I've stayed at. They upgraded us to the 2nd highest floor. * For Amex FHR, they also give $300 towards food (total), plus free breakfast (daily, up to a limit). And unlike other hotels, the $300 includes any taxes/tips, PLUS the hotel restaurant prices are actually reasonable. * Great location, just a few minute walk to the Monorail * Great staff -- from the doormen, to the counter, to the waiters -- everyone extremely friendly and helpful. * Extremely large and amazing shower (rain and adjustable wand), temperature was amazing. * Incredible indoor heated pool * Good quality body gels and shampoo/conditioner. * Complimentary waters (in recyclable cans). * Complimentary transport from hotel (within a small radius) around dinner time. * Robe/slippers * Very very quiet room, and extremely comfortable bed * Soaking tub (no jets) * Turn-down service * Great room service (they setup a full table for you) The Bad (Nitpicking): * Even from the 19th floor, it wasn't an "amazing" view -- but it's still decent. * Shower pressure could have been very slightly higher. * Hair dryer felt a little cheap, but did the job. * Spa was not open (not sure why, maybe renovation) Basically from the moment you walk in to the time you check out, you feel the luxury and they treat you like a welcomed and respected customer. Whoever is running this hotel is doing it right. I highly recommend a stay here!
