Motel 6-Percival, IA

I booked this on a weekend driving along I-29 since almost everything closer to Omaha was outrageously priced by comparison, and reviews were surprisingly good. When I arrived, I found that a pathetic Harley biker gang made up about half the guests already checked in, some of whom were smoking right outside the front lobby during a bad storm - not a great start. Check in staff was also a rough dude, but he did his job while biker dudes whisked by me between the pool and parking lot yelling profanities. The room was OK for the low price. Decent bed, fairly clean. The sink practically didn't drain at all, making brushing teeth pretty gross. There were no tissues provided in the room. But again, it worked for getting some sleep and bolting in the morning. Unfortunately for me, I needed to stay right up until checkout time, and this is where things went downhill. Housekeeping folks were *very* rough looking, and started pestering me with door knocks around an hour before checkout. Partially because of this, I started loading up the car 20 minutes before checkout, but left some bags in the room. When I returned, my keycard no longer worked... still at least 15 minutes before the listed checkout time. I know housekeeping is tough, but this kind of s*** drives me up the wall. Pestering and annoying guests until they leave early is bad enough, but disabling their keycards early is completely unacceptable. In summary: skip this place if you can't handle sketchy, low-brow vibes (including from the staff), but the rooms aren't awful if you just want a place to crash and a shower that isn't filthy. However, don't plan on staying any later than an hour before checkout in the morning.

How close it was to where I need to be

The bed isn't that comfortable but my biggest complaint is that it's like daytime in the room all night long it's hard to get any sleep when it looks like it's already daytime the amount of light coming into to the room from the flood lights is over the top. If you insist on the flood lights then install the room darkening shades you know people come to hotels to sleep right

Ce motel est vendu sur booking avec le petit déjeuner compris ce qui n'est pas le cas. Quand on demande à la dame au comptoir où est la salle pour le petit déjeuner, elle répond qu'ils n'ont jamais fait de petit déjeuner. Elle se tourne vers se collègue et dit: "c'est dingue le nombre de gens qui pensent que le petit déjeuner est compris avec la chambre!" C'est tout simplement de la pub mensongère.

Very clean and nice. Bed was comfortable. Hot water!!!! Didn’t use the pool

Breakfast was lacking. Probably because it’s a Monday
