"Un lugar hermoso, aunque un poco lejos de todo"

2.0

Es un sitio muy tranquilo, amplio, con muy buenas instalaciones y amenidades. Las habitaciones también son muy amplias y cómodas. Lo único lamentable es la distancia a la que está de la acción (Thamel, Durbar Square, etc.), y con el tránsito de Katmandú se siente más. Pero es un lugar muy recomendable.

"Rooms Okay, Resort and Surroundings are Awesome"

8.0

The rooms we had remind you more of a dorm than a hotel, twin size beds close to the ground with a single thing pillow. The bathroom had a shower in the corner with no real separation between it and the rest of the room other than the curtain so water went all over the floor. It was good enough of a place to lay our heads and lock up our belongings - the rooms have skeleton keys that you use to lock them from the inside and out. This was actually kind of neat. There is also a free safety deposit box/locker at the front desk you can use to store quite a bit of stuff. The resort sits at the base of the foothills of the Himalayas, north of town. All the separates you from the mountains is a small village which is neat to walk through. The resort has a nice pool, bar, patio along with nice lawns which includes a Yoga area, small Buddhist temple, "life size" chess board, horse riding area and clay tennis court. There is also a small pond with Koi and a Pagoda in the middle where you can enjoy an afternoon of rest. There is "high speed" internet available in the main lobby area only via a wireless router and a prepaid account (about $1 for an hour). It is perhaps a 256k connection, good enough for my Skype to work as all I brought with me was my iPod touch. It is a quiet refuge from the noise and smells from the city. Blue skies, green grass, and a 360 degree view of the mountains. Only about a 5km ride from Ring Road (the main circle road around the perimeter of Kathmandu).

"Loved the ambience"

8.0

The location and the park like grounds are wonderful for a relaxing holiday. I would not want to be in central Kathmandu. It is close to some walks up into the hills and they offer a shuttle bus each day to the city. The food was average and the service was slow at times but the ambience made up for it. All told a lovely stay and we would definitely go back there. We thought it was very good value for money.

"Park Village Resort nabij Kathmandu"

8.0

"Pleasant countryside hotel outside Kathmandu"

8.0

I stayed in both the standard and deluxe (suite) rooms here. Compared to similar hotels in the city, they were clean, spacious and well-kept, a value bargain. Its remoteness from the city was a problem, however. It is located in a village where there are no other eating and other facilities. It included free airport shuttle and free city shuttle, which was why I considered it to be the best of both worlds. However, desptie having emailed to the hotel my flight details, on arrival very late at night, no pickup service appeared. After having been harrassed by taxi drivers, one of them offered to call the hotel for me and would agree to drive me there, if the hotel agreed to pay for the taxi ride. In the end, the hotel settled the taxi bill directly with the driver. Guests rarely used the free city shuttle bus, which ran to/from Katmandu Guest House in Thamel, once each in the morning and evening. If no guest goes out to the city, they won't bother to send out a shuttle, in which case a guest booking only the return might have to get transport back to the hotel himself. As long as you book airport ride before check out, they will shuttle you there free. It might be a good place to stay if you don't want to mess with hectic, chaotic Kathmandu while at the same time taking advantage of proximity to city and availabililty of free shuttle, despite sparse service.

"Grüne Oase"

2.0

"A haven away from Kathmandu"

10.0

Kathmandu is a mediaeval city with the most auful traffic problem. The hotel is up the hill, on the edge of the smog layer. The hotel is delightful, if somewhat under- used. Unfortunately the Chinese arrived for a night-stop one night and about 100 high school students disturbed my other two nights.

"Surprises-I do not recommend this hotel"

6.0

The grounds are beautiful and it is quite a way away from the tourist section. But they offer free shuttle in a nice clean van for "drop off" and "pick up".

"Sanctuary from the madding crowds"

10.0

Having spent a month in Nepal paying no more than $4 a night, my teenage son and I decide to spend our last bit of time in relative luxury before heading back to Australia. We wanted to swim, and be sure of a hot shower afterwards! Park Village Resort looked as though it would fit the bill without breaking our budget. The staff were friendly & efficient, the room cosy with comfortable beds, and the grounds were just delightful. Magnificent pool area. This is not a 5-star luxury resort, however we recommend Park Village for those wanting an affordable, quiet haven amidst the business of Kathmandu, with just a few frills.

"Worth a taxi ride!"

8.0

Park Village is a refuge from the 'madness' of central Kathmandu. Nestled at the base of the foothills it is quiet and the gardens are filled with birds. A cheap 20 minute taxi ride has you in the heart of the city. We found that it was always a comfortable thought to be heading back to the hotel after a full day of experiencing the wonders of the valley.
