Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel

Great location

Dated rooms and bathrooms, boards holding up walls outside, layers of dust in the bottom of the wardrobe. Had an ironing board in the room but it only had one leg. The check in time was quite late.

Spacious room. Clean. Very helpful staff especially in the dining room at breakfast.

Bathroom a bit tired in places.

The hotel is very good value for money and very cleaning all areas. Staff on reception pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is a little too warm especially on the bedroom corridors. Although the building would make it a little difficult a more attractive outside seating area would be nice. No provision for charging phones provided in the bedrooms.

Great stopover en route to the Lakes. Incredible service from the lovely Irene in the bar area, who kept me fed and watered whilst I worked. Nothing was too much trouble and she really is fantastic.

The interior is in poor condition & feels very tired. Paint peeling from bathroom ceiling. Chipped paintwork. Broken butttons in the lift. Scuff marks all over. Its dated to say the least. The whole place has seen better times & could do with a face-lift. Can't remember the last place i stayed without USB points in the room... Breakfast wasn't too bad, with a good selction on the buffet. On the plus side, the staff were very nice & helpful, both on the phone & in person.
