"Review of Résidence la forêt"

10.0

Good loacation and perfect accommodation for a ski trip. Everything is close buy. For some strange Reason they shut the reception desk between 12 and 4 almost every day. When we arrived at 1:30 hoping to have half day on the slopes we called the out of hours number only to be told they did not have a key for left luggage which meant we were stranded with nothing to do for the rest of the afternoon. We were told to come back at 4 PM. Despite other guests indicating that the hotel was very accommodating with providing changing facilities etc until the rooms are free from about 5 o’clock we found this very disappointing and was a very bad start to the holiday with a wasted day. Overall however I would recommend this hotel.

"Nice but too far from surrounding areas for summer"

8.0

For the price and size of the place, couldn't ask for more. it was great to have more of a "home" while away. It seemed that we were in an updated apartment and it was very nice. However, you got the feeling that this place was built a while ago, went belly up, and they're trying to revitalize it. Also, we didn't realize just how far this place was from surrounding areas. So it took FOREVER just to get down to the bottom of the mountain. I"m betting it's a FANTASTIC place in the winter with the skiing. There are some summer activities in the area, like soccer, playground, ropes course, etc, for the kids. but, again, just felt a bit like a ghost town.

"Good"

6.0

Very helpful reception staff, were not aware of planned late arrival despite this being documented on booking form. We had contacted hotel separately as advised so this was not a problem and they arranged for our appartment key to be left in a key safe at reception as reception is not manned 24hrs. However it proved a little difficult to first of all find the hotel contact details from the booking form and then only a telephone number and no email contact was provided and it took some perseverance to actually get a reply. Be aware when booking for more than two people that these are appartments sleeping 6-7 with two bedrooms and additional pullout beds in the sitting room. We had a party of four and did not wish to all be sharing one room but by booking two rooms we actually ended up with two appartments!

"Great for a short stay"

8.0

Used this for a short ski trip. The hotel is very convenient to both the ski hire and the slopes. Not quite ski-in-ski-out but as close as you can get (200m walk). We managed to squeeze four in to the room which was cosy but not uncomfortable. Very helpful staff, they even allowed us to leave late in the afternoon to allow us a full day's skiing before heading off to the airport. Definitely stay there again...

"Spring Skiing Trip"

8.0

We had a wonderful last minute stay in early spring for 1 week. 1 bed room apartment was spacious for 4 and as expected. Required a little cleaning but overall acceptable. Bathroom was clean, shower powerful, towels etc were ok. Kitchen was good enough and came with a pack of cleaning stuff and dishwasher tablets. Beds weren't the most comfortable but after a long day on the hill that doesn't cause too many problems. We were in a top floor room looking out the back so had no balcony and a view onto one of the home pistes but no noise from the front main street. Staff were excellent both in the hotel and the shops/restaurants built into the hotel. Reception have various things available to borrow from toasters to kids games&dvds. Far from 5* luxury but as described and only a very short walk to the snow and lifts - even for 4yr olds in ski boots. Hotel front door is directly across the road from the funicular that takes you down to Flaine Forum. Would visit again - mainly for ease of access to slopes.

"Not 4 Star"

4.0

The residence is in actual fact apartments rather than a hotel. Our room had a strong odour of smoke despite the management's assurance that the apartments were non-smoking. Our apartment was not well cleaned and there were spider webs in the bathrooms. On departure we were made to strip our beds and throw away the contents of our dustbin - hardly The upside is that the apartments are located very cl

"Does the job"

Serviceable apartment, close to the Grand Vans lift, in need of an upgrade however as the rooms are looking a bit tired and could do with a repaint.
