Hotel Riu Yucatan - All Inclusive

Excellent location, friendly staff, large spacious comfortable rooms with mini bar (all included), large swimming pools with direct access to the beach, the food and drink options were very good, they also had various activities throughout the day if one is interested.

The food menu was repetitive across all the restaurants, perhaps including more international varieties. There was no manual option to control or switch off the AC unit, unless you either keep the door open or shut down the main power switch. With changing weather and temperature, we wanted to switch off the AC but there was no option to do that and we felt a bit sick due to that.

We stayed for 8 nights in two rooms right next to each other. The rooms had mold in them and the AC did not work. We attempted to tell the front desk about the AC issue and they alleged they fixed it, but never told us if they actually went and checked. The thermostat was set to 18c but the temperature in the room was 23.5c after the “fix” even on our very last day. Only had one outlet plug for electronics near the bed. The other one was across the room or in the bathroom. On our last night no one could shower because the water was extremely hot, I called(7 times) to inquire what was going on and was told that our building was having a water issue(water was coming out extremely hot and yellow looking). My buddy attempted to go shower in the front lobby and the water was also yellow. After 2 hours of waiting they tell me they can switch only half of our group to another room. The other half would have to stay in the room that doesn’t have water because they only had one extra room available or they could give us a room to just shower in and return to our rooms. We were without water the whole night, unable to use the bathroom because it wouldn’t flush. The next day the front desk staff would not allow me to talk to the manager of the hotel. WiFi did not work well whatsoever, it didn’t matter if you were in the room or in the lobby. There is a hot tub next to the pools, but it is not hot or even warm at all. I tried asking one of the staff members about it and they said they can’t make it hot because of the “kids”. Even though we were all adults in it at the time I asked. Overall this is the worst Riu experience I have ever had. Staying once at Riu Yucatán in the past was the reason I returned to this resort but after this experience I’m thinking of choosing a different brand of resorts. Riu Yucatán needs a lot of improvements from management staff to facility upgrades.

Las fiestas no son para los chicos y los invitan , todos quieren propina y la idea de un all inclusive es no llevar plata en mano.

This was our third visit we usually go there the same time each year and then somewhere different in Feb. This hotel never disappoints the staff are fantastic it is situated within reach of many different places to visit. we find it very good value for money a little tired in places but extremely clean and the food is fantastic. We would definitely recommend it

Hotellin sijainti ja hotellin alue olivat viihtyisiä, samoin henkilökunta. Eläimet toivat lapsille iloa. Myös aamiais- ja ilta-buffetin ruoka olivat maittavia.

Erittäin vanha kiinteistö eli huoneet kuluneet ja homeen haju tarttui myös vaatteisiin. Meillä oli kaksi huonetta, joista toisen viemärit eivät vetäneet. Myös lukkojen kanssa ongelmia. Lounasravintolan ruoka oli kehnoa, samoin vaihtoehtoisten illallisravintoloiden ruoka. Rannalla oli liian vähän rantatuoleja, koska sisar-hotellin (Riu Tequila) asiakkaat käyttivät samaa rantaa. Lisäksi asiakkaat varasivat tuoleja myös altaalta vaikka säännöt kielsivät ja tähän ei puututtu. Erittäin rasittavaa, jos aikaisin aamulla pitäisi mennä varaamaan tuoleja.

Las playas están muy buenas, mucha arena, linda agua. El hotel no es muy grande con lo cual es sencillo de transitar. Es tranquilo y cómodo. Parece un hotel con algunos años encima y aunque hay detalles está limpio y bien mantenido. Muchos animales y vegetación suman a la experiencia.

El trato con restricciones alimenticias es mala como en la mayoría de los all inclusive. El sector gluten free es muy malo y no está en todos los restaurantes, solo el buffet principal. El personal no es resolutivo. La experiencia está diliuda para convencer a los turistas norteamericanos, se siente poco la cultura mexicana. No hay sombrillas en la playa, y el costo de taxis y servicios es muy alto. No me convenció el entrenamiento, y una pésima fiesta de fin de año.

Muy pocas ofertas de comida para vegetarianos o veganos. Todo tiene carne, estan muy atrasados culturalmente respecto a este punto. Todo esta pensado para estadounidenses, ni siquiera ponen musica acorde a los argentinos. Todas las fiestas para ellos y fiesta de fin de año malisima. Un show totalmente desubicado. Solo la vas a pasar bien en la fiesta y en la pileta si sos estadounidense. Muy poca comida mexicana incluso, parece que se olvidasen en que pais estabamos.

The room they put us in was very dark and damp! The mould grew throughout the first week which made my partner cough and had to go to hospital!!! They move us to a new room which was much better!!! But the room should have been condemned as it was so damp! I understand the humidity in Mexico is high but that room was unexcepable!!! They cleaned the mould with bleach knowing someone else was going in that room after us!!! TUI knew about this but wasn’t overly bothered! The rest of our holiday was ok!!! Food was mediocre and the whole place needs a refurb!!! Looks very tired!!!!
