The Balinese

The Balinese was an excellent base from which to explore Far North Qld. The bed was comfortable, the room a generous size, well appointed, and kept spotlessly clean, the wifi working, the staff friendly and the parking free and convenient. There is no "view" from the rooms but the the location is quiet and the site is secured at night. We feel it provided good value for money and would be happy to return.

I arrived and the general condition of the hotel is old and a bit run down which is ok if upon arriving in the room a mouse hadn't run out of the closet when i went to put my bag away. At this point i decided that i really didnt want to stay here and went down to talk to reception who argued with me that i hadnt seen a mouse and refused to refund any of the four nights that i had prepaid for. So it cost me $585.00 for 10 minutes

This Lake St small motel would be ideal for many on a limited budget, it is close to the regional hospital and if you have a car not too far to central Cairns. The staff are welcoming and keep the rooms tidy and well serviced, with a simple breakfast room it ticks a lot of boxes. Would stay again.

The Balinese is a great place that I've stayed at several times now. Sally is always friendly and provides a great facility. Central location near the hospital and a15 minute walk to the city area. Rooms are spotles and a light breakfast which is included beside the pool is a bonus. The rooms are a little dark but apart from that 10 out of 10. Quality Samsung tv's with digital channels as well.

Very clean and quiet, close to the centre. There is a ver small swimming pool with cold water, a little kitchen free of use for the guest (quite clean) and the room+ bathroom was very big and cleaned every day. The location is just 10 minutes walking from the centre in a very quiet area. The only bad thing was the light breakfast: no fresh food and the milk was out of date :-(

Great quiet motel, close to some fantastic food and the girls in the office are only too willing to help if needed.

Great stay that suited our needs perfectly. Excellent continental breakfast in nice setting by the pool. Very handy to town and waterfront. Would definitely stay there again

Nice motel with good walk to town centre. Clean and friendly staff.

10 minute walk from the esplanade. Not a whole lot to complain about. Had breakfast. Got my laundry done. Clean bathroom. Kind of dark in the room in general, but comfortable bed. Recommended.
