Crown Motel

The property itself was beautiful, peaceful, and in a great location. I especially enjoyed the views of the lake and the overall atmosphere of the motel The grounds were well maintained, and I found the stay relaxing and enjoyable.

My only disappointment was that the room I received did not match the renovated lake-view room that was advertised and pictured on Booking.com when I made my reservation. I was assigned a non-renovated room with only a partial lake view, despite paying the lake-view rate. While this did not ruin my stay, I believe the room descriptions and photos should more accurately reflect what guests will receive. Overall, I enjoyed the property and had a pleasant stay, but there is room for improvement in reservation accuracy and communication.

We chose the superior king room, because superior rooms have air conditioning, whereas reg. rooms don’t. Also those rooms seem to be located closest to the small beach. Our room #240 was just steps away from the beach/water and very comfortable, although the air conditioner was rather loud. All in all we enjoyed our room and stayed 3 nights.

Not the property itself, I called twice and left msg. wanting to book a room w air. No return call back. When we arrived at the lobby later in the day, the woman at front desk could not tell me if a superior room had air. I walked around the property and found someone who worked there and asked. She assures me that all superior rooms were air-condtioned. I booked 3 nights w Booking.com and saved about $200 from the front desk quote. Also, that room is kinda hidden, which is nice, but the WiFi wasn’t that great, fine outside on the patio.

Location, location, location! Super comfy bed and lines. Being on the Lake is a must when Ayla Tahoe! Rooms are roomy, pool, hot tub, fire pits and plenty of place to lounge or sit.
