Astura Palace Hotel

Great location. 5 minute direct walk from the train station. Close to everything, some lovely little bars/cafe's close by. The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Not much in the way of a cooked breakfast if that is what you want but there is the usual, fruit juices, teas coffees. Cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries and cakes. Everything is fresh.

My room was a good size, if anything it was too big with a too small bathroom with a very small shower cubicle, you needed to open both doors just to get in to it. I did ask to change rooms, I had booked a deluxe double with sea view. Fair enough you got everything it said BUT the balcony was so small it really should not be classed as a balcony or a deluxe room. The balcony was too small to sit out on. While I appreciate the wall surrounding the balconies is aesthetically pleasing from the outside it is a wall, there is no view when you are sitting. As I said I asked to change rooms and was initially told there wasn't another room, I spoke to someone else later and she changed my room and was really lovely about it too, very helpful. My other grumble was the roof terrace. The weather was glorious (end of May) and it would have been lovely to sit there and admire the views which are stunning. I was told it didn't open till the following week. Why?
