The hotel is very well located, in a quiet area and old 5 minutes walk from a Piazza Garibaldi and streets with a number of dining options. It's only a 10 minute slow walk from the Leaning Tower, using the best route through Piazza Dei Cavalieri. The breakfast was great and consisted of tea/coffee, cereal, fruit, juice, croissants, various cookies and toast (toast in Italy is a toasted sandwich with cheese and Prosciutto ham). The staff were very friendly and their excellent English made up for our lack of Italian. Nothing seemed to be a problem for them and it was noticeable that a number of local people were coming to the hotel café every morning for their coffee, croissants, etc. They are the difference between visiting once and booking again in the future. It's important to remember that this is not a modern building run by a hotel chain, with a sterile, business-like vibe. It's an old building in the old centre of Pisa and layout of the building and the rooms reflects this. You should not expect brand-new fixtures and fitting, but you will find that everything is clean and tidy, with AC in the room and excellent staff who provide excellent customer service. Also, we didn't find our room to be very bright, as the windows faced into narrow streets, but we were glad of this when the days were hot and our room was shaded from the sun.

Some fittings looked a bit old, but that was just cosmetic as everything was clean. Better pillows would be good and again, this is only a minor issue that didn't take from our stay.

Nice hotel, friendly staff!

Value for money. The hotel is located very centrally with nice and clean rooms. The cafe is nice with fresh-baked croissants and cookies. Bonus: the smell of the fresh baked cookies
