"Could be so much better"

8.0

There are many positives to this hotel. Although the rooms are dated, it is immaculately clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The pool area, beach and garden are a great asset in the daytime. However, management must review their entertainment. For a start it is not delivered anywhere near where people are sitting because the bars are tucked away and there are no staff members serving drinks to encourage people to sit outside. But mostly the entertainment was inappropriate for the clientele that this hotel attracts. IT IS ALSO FAR TOO LOUD!!!! I chose a sea view room and the noise each night was absolutely awful. In fact I went down to reception one evening to ask them to turn it down. I couldn’t hear the television or hear myself think!!! I checked each night and very few people seemed to be out there anyway. Who are they playing to? The Lotto calling was particularly annoying. Overall this is a good hotel with the potential to be a great hotel.

"Hotel del Levante is dated and need refurbishment to be 4*"

Location on the beach was beautiful.

Breakfast was very disappointing, limited choice of everything, tomatos were almost frozen, fruit salad and fresh fruits most of the time not available. Restaurant is not exactly 4 *. Hotel del Levante should have more lifts .

"Good"

4.0

10.0

Struttura eccezionale, direttamente sul mare. Ombrelloni e lettini sempre disponibili anche in pieno agosto. Camere ampie e pulite, staff gentile e sorridente. Siamo stati benissimo, sicuramente ritorneremo.

Solo il bar aveva prezzi alti, superiori alla media offrendo però portate semplici come frutta/toast/panini!

"Good for young families with children, Not over 50's wanting a quiet holiday!"

6.0

On first appearance the del Levante looks very good. The whole place is immaculately clean. All front of house staff are always willing to help. We had opted to pay extra for a sea view with balcony on the 5th floor and you did have a lovely view over the hotels swimming pools and the sea to the small village of 'Torre Canne' with its lighthouse. But this hotel appears to specialise in providing families with children entertainment from around 10am till well after 10pm with lots of loud music in the area below the rooms with a 'Sea View', so you can't sit on your balcony admiring the view sipping a glass of wine without the very loud music spoiling your afternoon or evening and you could not even have a conversation because the music was so loud. Requests to the management to turn the music down a bit were totally ignored. Dining in the evening is a strange affair with you having to make your selection that morning. As we had been booked with 'Newmarket Holidays' wee got a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 type of vegetables & 1 desert, however those from other tour company's got a far bigger selection of dishes to choose from so you felt you were 'Second Class' guests, also the hotel refused to give you 'Tap Water' at the table for free insisting you buy bottled mineral water. The food we were served was certainly Ok and well cooked, just very little to choose from if you were staying on a 'Newmarket Holiday Package' . Local wines were very nice an a very reasonable €16 a bottle with one of the bar staff 'Stephanie' a real star turning every drink she poured or cocktail she mixed into a piece of 'Theatre'[Unfortunately she is off to work in Belgium in a few weeks and non of the other bar staff were as good as she was]. Though the hotels is immaculacy clean the sofa's and chairs in the public area's are very low with a very long thigh length making them uncomfortable to sit in. The beds like the rest of the hotel are immaculately clean, pity the mattresses are very thin and IMO very uncomfortable. There is good wardrobing and drawers in the room along with safe and mini-bar. Unfortunately on the 5th floor the pressure in the shower is very low, whereas at the side of the pool it is very high. Pool has a Robot scrubbing machine cleaning all night with attendants regularly testing the water. More than enough sunbeds to accommodate all guests round the pool, around the grounds and under the tree's to suite everybody's needs for either sun or shade. All staff around the hotel were all very nice and helpful except at the reception desk where complaints about noise from the children's club going on till after 10.30 at night dismissed as a necessity for the children and their parents and guests who would like to have conversations with fellow guests after dinner should have gone elsewhere. Also when I went to settle our bar bill at the end of the holiday we were presented with a list of figures and a total! No list of what they were for nor the dates of the purchases and when I asked for an Itinerary I was told by 'The Head Cashier' They didn't do that here. I travel with two different Pre Loaded debit cards, one MC and the other Revolut which is Visa just in case one does not work, but when I first tried to use one it came up on the 'APP' that the 'Connection was Insecure' and refused to process the transaction. I then tried to use the other card and got the same result even though it was a different bank. I eventually had to make a direct credit transfer from my bank to the hotels bank and when I asked for a receipt from the 'Head Cashier' she ws extremally rude, but I was not leaving her until she provide me with proof that the transaction had went through. There is not much to do around Torre Canne, the village has a few shops and places to eat but not much else and very little public transport to take you further afield to explore the area, but for a young family wanting a beach holiday it is probably ideal, But not for those over 50 wanting a nice quiet holiday.
