The balcony overlooking the Aegean Sea was spectacular to see the sunsets and the sea color blues. The breakfast buffet was presented very nicely and delicious. Parikia had many great beaches which we attended. Although around the island the water temperature at the time was a little cold for me, my Goddaughter had a fabulous time swimming.

We had to rent a buggy to get around the island. Even getting up to the hotel from the town square was difficult for me because I was walking with a cane and wouldn't been able to get to the hotel without transportation. My young Goddaughter made the walk from the town square much easier.

Great staff and location, easy walk in to town for meals. Reception and kitchen staff all fantastic . Very tasty breakfast

The rooms are a bit dated but great value for money

The view was lovely and staff friendly and helpful. When I mentioned the problem we had with disturbing noise overnight, the staff member showed me to the source but said I would have to wait for the morning receptionist to arrive as she was unable to stop it. It was turned off at 8.30am. The morning receptionist was very friendly and apologetic. She offered us an alternative room but with just one other guest in what is possibly a 50 room hotel, we shouldn’t have been allocated our room as clearly the staff were aware of the problem with the noise which was far worse where our room was located. There was a good breakfast selection but the two ‘hot breakfast’ items (eggs and sausage rolls) were luke warm. This was probably because they were being heated with three small tea-light candles. Our experience is that quality hotels have electrically heated warming trays. The fresh orange juice was very good.

Our major issue was the loud continuous noise overnight - first night off and on. I recorded videos but unsure these can be downloaded onto this review. The overnight staff member indicated she also found it annoying. I asked if it was coming from the laundry but she said no. I continued to question her about the source and she beckoned me into a small kitchen to the right of the lift. It was incredibly noisy. I wondered if it was linked to the air conditioning.There was also a small window to the outside on the stairway between the Ground and First Floor. I opened it as the noise was particularly loud there. There was a large very noisy pipe - again the air conditioning? It really did disturb our sleep. In our room (102 I think), the en-suite was difficult to navigate. The toilet is virtually under the corner of the washbasin and it was necessary to be careful not to knock your knee! The shower leaked across the bathroom floor. Water was coming through the grouting at floor level. Never before have we forfeited the cost of a night’s accommodation which we did because the experience was so bad. I was advised that because I had made the booking through Booking.com that a refund would not be possible. It sounded as if they might have made a refund if I had booked direct but I’m not 100% sure on this. The cost was just over £100 per night. The nearby ‘beach’ is not accessible from the hotel and looked nothing like the photo in the hotel images but don’t bother because it’s mostly rocks with a few small sandy areas. The beach at Pariakia is small but lovely and sandy. Golden Beach is sensational. We moved to another hotel close by - Pandrossos - from 2/10 to 10/10 - see my review when published. Cost £90 per night. By comparison we felt we were staying at the Ritz - so welcoming too. Reviews in any way critical seem to receive abrupt, defensive, aggressive responses. There is no apology or empathy whatsoever. Suggest you look at review ranked in order of lowest.
