Agung Raka Resort and Villa

Wonderful hotel on the Main Street in Ubud, which offers a shuttle service into town and to Monkey Forest (free). When you arrive at the reception, you think the hotel will be noisy on the road, however you are led into remote rice terraces and a tranquil environment where you can't even hear the road. Clean rooms and comfy beds, the shower was a little less clean. The restaurant is delicious. The staff are very friendly and are always smiling and greeting you throughout the resort. The massages are pricey, you can get a massage for cheaper in town (we didn't have any massages at the hotel so we can't say whether they were worth it or not). Don't reserve activities through the hotel, they are cheaper and prices can be negotiated in the town, as well as taxi services. The hotel is across the street from Agung Rai museum (ARMA) which is worth visiting, plan to stay at least 4-5 hours.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the grounds are breathtaking. We booked the cheapest room available and we got what we paid for. Lots of bugs in the room, AC barely worked and the shower smelled terrible.

This hotel was excellent. We went back for a second time and I stayed in the budget deluxe room as well as a garden view villa, both were great. The staff were very friendly and remembered us and our names the second time we stayed. The rooms were some of the cleanest I've seen in my month in Bali. Breakfast was plenty. The restaurant was good, and there were also many other nice restaurants in the area. There was two good sized pools, and the resort is a very large and spread out area looking over rice fields and is very quiet even though it is on a main road. It isn't far from the Monkey Forest, and it's about a 20 minute walk or a quick taxi ride from the centre of Ubud (I do believe they also offer a free shuttle into Ubud). They booked a tour of Mt. Batur for us with no issues which the driver then took us to our next destination in Seminyak. I would highly recommend this hotel. I also stayed next door at another hotel for the same price and this was the better of the two.

Amazing deal for what you pay. Been travelling for months and this place has been one of the best deals for what you get.

My boyfriend and I had booked this hotel for our our first stay after arriving in Bali. We were so happy with the hotel and Ubud that we extended our stay for three more days (and because there was a mistake either on hotels.com or their booking system they didn't have the Superior room any more and we were upgraded to the Deluxe room.) The area of the hotel is quite big. There are two pools with nice surrounding. The breakfast was good and the staff always friendly. The hotel is located about 20 to 25 minutes away if you want to walk. By taxi it's 5 to 10 minutes and will cost about 45000 rupiah.

It was ok but for the price, there is better near by.

This is the second time I have stayed here and again it was a lovely place to stay. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the rooms are big and bright, the facilities are excellent, wonderful pool, good breakfast and a nice quiet location. There are a couple of small gripes, like no hot water outlet at the hand basin in the bathroom means shaving in cold water or boiling the kettle to fill the basin, and the quality of the linen, especially the towels, which needs to be replaced as they are small and hard. All in all, it was a nice hotel to use, and I will stay there again.

Architecture is pleasing but but breakfast and service are horrible. Shuttle not available as offered in brochure.
